Prepare to read an interesting story about the worst service in the history of St. John's. Actually, if you want to read about the only McDonald's that rivals this one in horrible experiences, check out my review of the one in Gander.
Every time I come here they mess up my food. Now, I know what you are thinking, "stop going there, dummy."; I know, but this is in a convenient place and I only eat crappy fast food when I am in a super big hurry.
Here is the one story I will give you.
Part 1: My gf and me ordered a salad, and they made it wrong. My gf is a student, so splurging on even cheap food is a bit of a luxury. So, I suggested we bring it back and get it fixed. The girl on the speaker told my GF she was wrong and that the salad was exactly what she ordered. We could hear them swearing about how my gf was wrong through the drive thru window, which they should not have done ever, period. Anyways, they eventually returned and give her this crappy torn apart thing, and slammed the window.
Part 2: My gf is upset, and what we just went through was basically abuse. I called in to speak to the manager who denied it ever happening, and they hung up on me. I am willing to bet she is the same girl that I was trying to report for swearing.
Part 3: I worked at MacDonald's for years, so I knew how to get ahold of the store manager. The next day I called and they were super nice and apologized. The store manager was super nice and gave us free meals, but we will never cash them in.
I would give this place no stars if I could, but I feel giving it one star proves more of a point. Am I spitey, probably.
This happened a...
Read moreA few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went through drive thru for two iced coffees, something we've ordered numerous times. Yes, they're usually inconsistent and we deal with it, but these coffees were not drinkable. There was way too much cream/base, so it tasted overly milky and sweet. My boyfriend brought them back inside and staff were accommodating to make us new ones. However, the same issue occurred, so he took them back in exchange for hot coffees. Again, they accommodated, but one staff made a comment that they were made according to direction (so, insinuating we were wrong), and no refund was offered for the difference in cost. Really, due to inconvenience we should have received a full refund but we were also in a hurry.
I returned to this location a week later and ordered another iced coffee, this time asking for half the base. I wanted to see what the outcome would be, and it tasted like a regular. What this says to me is something is off with this locations iced coffees, and my boyfriend and I aren't dreaming this up. In future, I may avoid this location, though I haven't ordered anything except...
Read moreDefinitly the slowest McDonaldâs in town. Even at 6am, when thereâs only 2 other cars in line, Iâve waited 10+ minutes for an iced coffee.
Worst than that though, they often put through multiple cars on one side of the drive through at a time, instead of one at a time from each side.
They did this today. Then when they handed me the wrong order, I asked her to check which order I paid for. She lied and told me that my order and the one I paid for were the same price. I asked her again, specifically how much my order was and how much the wrong one was that I paid for. She said âI just checked, theyâre both $7.80,â I asked to see the receipts and actually the wrong order I paid for was more expensive. It was only .55 cents more so not a huge deal. If this had been a one time mistake, I would had overlooked it. But this location is always making mistakes!
