On Friday September 24, my friends Renelle, AJ and I dined at Moxie's and it was *excellent*!!! We waited an appropriate amount of time to be seated & were able to sit in the host area, which was great. We could see they were dealing with another customer/issue but it was clear that the staff were all very professional, friendly, and helpful. We waited about 10/15 minutes, tops! We were seated in an awesome booth out in the "cool area with the windows"! :) Loved our location. Our Server was Erica who was exceptional - friendly, good energy, & great at her job. Renelle mentioned she had celebrated her 30th birthday that week, & Erica brought us champagne on the house - an amazing start to the night!! We had a delicious appetizer (calamari & shrimp, as pictured), yummy drinks, and our meals were also so, so good. Hot, fresh, & plated so nicely. It was all delicious. Later, we were sipping our drinks and the manager, Kirk, came by to say hello. We had a great chat, he was so friendly and was clearly passionate about his job and the restaurant! We saw Kirk again the next morning in the parking lot, just as motivated to work as he was the night before. We loved chatting with him, and we will surely be back sometime! We hope he is there again whenever that is! :) Highly recommend Moxie's at the Sandman Hotel in St. John's!! Thanks for a great experience, Moxie's crew!!

Let's say up front that the food is pretty good. Good flavour. Reasonable portion sizes. Now you know the 'but' is coming... But the service is lacking. Overall service is lacking and slow, especially for drinks. We waited a full 10 minutes before our waiter showed up to ask if we would like something to drink. Once we ordered drinks it was another 14 minutes before they arrived. More waiting to take our order. Drinks gone but no ask or notice from waiter if we wanted a refill. This just is lack of attention. It should be noted that our table was not cleaned properly from the previous diners with bits of food and liquid on the table. We mentioned this and received a rather confused look from the staff. The look said, "What do you want me to do about it?". We had to actually ask specifically, "Could you please clean off the table?", before she went and found a cloth and wiped down the table. Also, we were never offered any water at anytime. It was a warm sunny day and water would have been appreciated. Even Home Depot offered us a bottle of water when we visited them earlier. Eventually we did get fed and the food was fine. I'm not sure if this is the norm (not good) or if they were short staffed (also not good and not my problem). When you pay these prices I don't think it is too much to ask to provide a reasonable level of service. At this time Moxie's is not reaching this level.

Food and alcoholic beverage were flavorsome. Service was pretty good. I ordered vegan tacos which came with guac and chips and it all tasted amazing. As well, I ordered a pineapple basil margarita which was stellar. The menu offered some other really great items. The restaurant was beautiful and spacious. My company ran into some issues; someone's soda was flat and the other was served their chicken salad with no chicken until they were nearly finished their salad which made it slightly uncomfortable for me and the rest of us while we were all served our proper meals. With that said, the issues were resolved, the servers were friendly and gave explanations and everyone including myself enjoyed the taste of our food.

Resturant was only open a week or so when we visited so we had a wait for a table and we're only able to be accommodated in the bar area. I expect that this will not be a problem after they are open awhile. Very friendly and helpful service and meal was good and on par with other Moxies I have visited across the country. The entrance to this Resturant is somewhat confusing. The restaurant is in a Sandman Signature Hotel on the side adjacent to a Denny's but the door looks like an emergency exit. As we waited for a table we noticed many customers walk past the door only to come back and go in. Better signals would help.

I recently dined at Moxies, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. While the service was just okay, the real issue came from the shrimp tacos I ordered. Within a few hours of eating, I began experiencing extreme nausea, violent vomiting, and explosive, very smelly diarrhea. It was clear that the seafood had been mishandled, leading to a severe case of food poisoning. My symptoms were so bad that I almost had to get my stomach pumped, and I ended up missing nearly a whole week of work. This experience was incredibly distressing, and I would caution others to think twice before ordering seafood from Moxies.

Great atmosphere & hospitality from the servers. Drinks & Appetizers came out very quickly. Fries🍟 are done very nicely with very little grease which was a delight. Portions were great on all servings. Hamburgers🍔 were well cooked as well. To top it all off the kids had an amazing dessert called Ice Cream Volcano 🍦🌋 where the server introduced an element to the bowl causing it to smoke like a volcano around the ice cream. I will 💥caution💥 attention to the Calamari appetizers had shrimp🍤 placed on the bottom. The calamari wasn't the best I had & tasted like they were frozen rather than fresh.
