Mr. Souvlaki — Restaurant in St. John's

The falafel plate is NOT VEGETARIAN as advertised on Skip the Dishes.

My boyfriend and I placed a Skip order two weeks ago. We both got falafel plates, and under one I special requested that anything that wasn't vegan was to be left off. Fortunately for me, a very polite worker called to let me know that the potatoes and rice are made with a chicken base, and she offered adequate substitutions. However, this makes it not even vegetarian. It's upsetting because I've eaten here before, the restaurant was even recommended to me by a long time vegetarian.

I attempted to contact Mr Souvlaki's head office twice through the website to confirm if this was standard practice, or if it is something specific to this store. I waited a week after both attempts, and have still received no response. That part is not the fault of these store owners, but it is frustrating because I believe that it shouldn't be necessary to publicly put a company on blast to get a response, but here we are.

If you're a veg*n ordering off Skip or in the Avalon mall food court, you're better off sticking to Thai Express or Mucho Burrito.

EDIT: It's been over a month and still no response. Cool. Haven't gone back...

Rating two stars only because I love the food. Super disappointed in customer service. I am a regular customer, but today I had enough. There is an Asian looking girl whose name I forgot to check to be more specific, but she is super rude, never smiles, never greets, literally counts every single leaf of the lettuce while putting them in the plate, does her best to put as little portions as possible etc, etc. And today, she misunderstood my order when I asked to skip the onions and as a result she put onions which I just can't eat. I understand, it happens, so got back to her asking for a return and a refund and instead of accepting her fault and processing the refund or offering a new one, she was only trying to convince me that I did ask her for onions.
