Ordered ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes, fried mushrooms and onions, and the shrimp for one meal and the balsamic chicken fettuccine for the other meal.
The Balsamic Chicken Fettucine was spectacular, the flavors were well balanced and the ratio of the ingredients were spot on.
The ribeye meal was sent back after I found a hair on the steak. The accompanying veg was not the greatest, the cauliflower tasted spoiled. Would have been nicer if it were just a well cooked cooked veg in the side, asparagus would have been great. The first steak was cooked perfectly, ordered rare, but the hair made me send it back. The 2nd steak was overcooked and over seasoned. It was more of a medium and they were quite heavy on the salt. The mashed potatoes were a bit runny and had a very mellow garlic flavor. The shrimp, I would skip ordering again, taste was good but the price was not and those were small tiger shrimp.
The server was amazing, very personable and friendly. She felt terrible for our experience but we told her it was fine and not a big deal, she went out of her way to get us a dessert to go to compensate (besides replacing the original steak meal).
Overall, the meal was still great, just the hair and then the second steak was not how I wanted it, I just didn't want the chef to cook me a third steak and make my girlfriend wait. In the end, I hope people reading realize, this is not to say that the restaurant is bad, at all. Instead, it's so that people can make better choices and people working there can take the constructive criticism and work with it.
Honestly, we will be going back again. That chicken was amazing. And I'd like to try some of their seafood dishes as it is a seafood restaurant after all and they have so many great choices. Give it a try, im sure you'll be...

We had the most amazing experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, washroom was clean, and the music was very pleasant.
The service was excellent, our server Cecilia was super sweet, very friendly and knowledgeable. We definitely had the best moment because of her, and she was the only server + bartender, and we never felt that we were missing attention even if the place was half full.
Now the food, it was just delicious, we ordered: Lemon pepper Calamari Local Mussels Seafood platter Balsamic chicken fettuccine a Daily special that was a halibut on top of risotto with Brie cheese, so delicious! All the food was amazing, we shared all for 4 people and we were more than full. The table favourites were the risotto and the fettuccine. Also bread and maple butter was provided and was perfect, warm and whipped butter on a fresh baguette, yummy !
We also received a special dessert to celebrate our friend birthday and we were so amazing about the amazing chocolate brownie and the caramel cheesecake, we will definitely come...
Read moreWe made a reservation with this restaurant a month in advance of our Anniversary. The day of our reservation we discovered that the main street in St John's is closed to vehicle traffic (we are from out of province) so we returned our hotel and grabbed a taxi to the Restaurant. We call them to inform them that we were running late but they didnt pick up the phone after many attempts. When we arrived 25 mins late they had given our reservation away. They informed us that after 20 mins they could cancel the reservation and why didnt we call them if we were running late. We informed them that we did call (showed her proof on our phone) and they wouldnt answer. She (manager) asked why I didnt leave a msg (they didnt check the phone anyway !) and that she was unable to help us out. The manager was very rude and didnt even try to find us a spot. The restaurant is very small and the atmosphere (while standing there) did not warrant such high reviews as indicated on TripAdvisor. We told them to never mind and we went to a very nice restaurant down the street (Salt Water) where we had the most enjoyable staff and meal in St John's....
