I am currently hospitalized in St. Clare's hospital for a pretty major surgery requiring a 2-3 day stay. By the time I was cleared to eat food tonight my first day, it was after dinner and nothing was available but toast. I have dietary needs that toast does not cut it and I was told to order delivery from some place.
I am not from around here. I relied upon searching the map to find local establishments and found this place and noticed it had online ordering available.
It is what I needed to browse, buy and pay online. I believe they used a third party delivery service, and that driver was very accommodating as well.
I was unsure if my order was received or if payment was successful and we called in to check. The person who answered the phone realized we were inquiring about the order place stating it was for me recovering from surgery and stranded without food. I stated I needed thin crust if possible and soft chew if possible (as I'm not much for crust and will have issues swallowing from the surgery and mostly buying pizza to pick at the toppings). I also ordered a lasagna requesting plastic fork and knife if it's on the chunkier side of texture as I don't have access to a utensils let alone a knife. I was provided the two utensils.
The pizza crust was so thin, it was so soft that I could enjoy the entire thing in small bites. I am so appreciative of the accomodation of the people on duty at the restaurant and the third party delivery driver.
I will definitely order from here again as the pizza, garlic fingers, wings, poutine and lasagna were all good. I ordered that much food for myself and my 17 year old daughter here supporting me and staying with me over nights until the discharge.
I have snacks or meals for two days refrigerated or not (pizza can usually last).
I am forever grateful to this business and kind strangers in my life during my life threatening surgery and recovery. I didn't want my celebratory meal or my last meal (should I go down hill) be toast when I was cleared for food after passing the liquid diet earlier and premised platted food or snack after. Not a cracker or cheese cube or apple sauce in sight nor was I told you bring something with us as this is my first time in this predicament.
Papa's Pizza N More lived upto that name. They were more than a casual pizza shop, but a vital partner to my care and recovery whether they on duty knew it or not.
Polite, efficient, good looking and tasting good, great collaboration between the pizza shop and delivery driver.
I couldn't take too many photos due to privacy in a ward but I snuck a. Pizza shot.
All the food tastes great and it's not because I was famished, it was because it was made nicely and attention to quality of ingredients. I am a huge foodie and simple pleasures are a passion for me and pizza is the best comfort food for me when available.
They ensured it could be available for me in my greatest time of need despite my mobility limitation and inclusive or my accessibility accomodation in texture. It was so perfect, it brought hope to me and helped lighten the mood for my daughter.
I share this insight to encourage others in my same situation to know of this positive experience and if more patients are told to order delivery: they might have a peer reviewer that went through the same thing; that it could be possible to get good food from this place and ability to get a driver to come to the hospital.
To all the future hospitalized foodies out there: this location was accessible and accommodating!!!
This was not so much focused on the food, but the amazing customer...
Read moreUPDATE! - Changing my rating from 5 to 3 stars. As they increased the price of the pizza by almost $10! That's a bit much all at once. Now they are just as much or more expensive than other places. I won't be ordering from here again. I will just have to order pizza a bit earlier while cheaper places are still opened. It's still decent pizza and the best late night option available, but you can get much more for less if you order from competitors a bit earlier. (Original review - AWESOME LATE NIGHT PIZZA FOR THE PRICE! YOU WON'T FIND ANYTHING ELSE THIS GOOD...
Read moreThe pizza here is pretty good. It's nothing special, but it's definitely far from the worst pizza I've ever had. That title belongs to Pizza Delight. The slice is absolutely massive. I ordered just 1 slice on doordash, and when it came, it was the size of a small pizza! It was very cheesy. The crust was a tad on the thin side, although I like it like that so I'm not complaining! The pepperoni they use here is super bland, it tastes like nothing. The sauce is pretty good. I definitely...
