Yikes
We first arrived here after having a late day around the city. Most places had either stopped serving food or closed their kitchen early due to the heat warning. We made our way to shamrock but truly wish we hadn't.
When arriving two gentleman at the front told us to take a seat, then after waiting about 10 minutes we had to flag down a waiter for menus. 10 minutes later we had to flag down the same waiter for drinks and the rest of our order. Food came out quickly enough, yet it was drastically overcooked. Once we got our food we had to flag down our waiter yet again for cutlery and napkins. Who ever the manager/owner is should hire more staff or have the staff mention they're understaffed tonight if it was due to the heat warning (if thats the case) communication goes a long way with customers.
Another reason for the 2 stars is due to a fight breaking out on the sidewalk between the patio and main building. The two 'bouncers' at Shamrock just watched and...
Read moreGood experience. The food is your typical pub food but the atmosphere and vib is what you're coming for, and it was GREAT.
Interaction with the musicians, servers friendly, easy to get to know the people at the next table.
It was our third evening during our stay. Every other time was great! We will really wished we could stay but for some reason, this time, music was WAY TOO loud. I mean, like ear rattling, speakers distorting, screaming at the person beside you, people heading to the washroom plugging their ears painful kinda loud.
They did offer to turn it down at my request but they didn't seem to think that it was too loud so we left.
I'm just surprised they rely on customers to complain about the PA system and don't read the room and monitor/regulate the house levels themselves.
Still, normally a great experience, great vibe, great people. They just let their PA get away from...
Read moreDisgusting experience here. We witnessed one of the door men throw a drunk guy to the curb where he smashed his head and bled onto the sidewalk. After 5 minutes, he was able to stand and feel his head was bleeding. He ran toward the door men where 3 of them jumped toward him, one knocked him out cold where he again smashed his head loudly on the sidewalk and was bleeding even more now. Not one worker seemed concerned by this atrocious behaviour. The workers should not have to endure any abuse, but also shouldn’t be jumping onto the opportunity to knock out a guy who was obviously too drunk to be out in public in the first place. How disgusting. Obviously no care for the safety of others and just eager to fight and feel tough. Other bystanders called an ambulance, thankfully. Will never be...
