We had family in from out of town and a few things to celebrate. The request was “a really good meal”. Having not been to Stella’s before we took a bit of a risk going to a restaurant for the first time with family based solely on the good things we had heard from some friends. We’ll let me tell you, that was the best decision we could have made. Our entire evening was so amazing, every detail, just fabulous. Stella’s is a small space, not a lot of tables, so the atmosphere was really lovely and intimate. The decor and design was perfection, such a big change from the HH Cafe. All of our food was INCREDIBLE start to finish. We ordered (everything to share): - Brioche bread buns and whipped butter (my fiancée said he could have eaten 20) - Lester’s Carrots - Tomato Tartine (our absolute favourite) - Cod Croquettes - Shrimp Tacos - Braised Short Rib - Pork Belly and Scallops - Duck Leg Conffi The food was beyond our expectations and well worth the cost because we all nearly rolled out of there. There were only a few things on the menu that we didn’t try, and truthfully I think we’ll be back very soon to try them because everything else was so incredible, we’re afraid we missed other great dishes. Service was impeccable, so were our drinks. Their wine list was nice, so we stuck with wine the whole night, but I regret not trying a cocktail, some classics, but a lot of interesting creations on there too! All in all, we had such a spectacular night. We were sad to see the Hungry Heart Cafe go, but what a gem Stella’s Brasserie is here in the city. I am certain it will become our go to spot for date night, especially when we have someone to impress. Thank you Stella’s! Keep doing exactly what you’re doing, it’s spectacular!

We came here on a Friday and there was a nice vibe. The cocktails were terrific (highly recommend the Basically a Salad). The food was also great: we got the corn bread, cucumber salad (quite outstanding), the chicken filets, and the daily special which was a chickpea curry (also outstanding). What made the experience was our server, Georgia who went above and beyond to make us feel at home and make the best choices for us. She was a true gem! I’d definitely go back. And probably on a Friday.

Delicious plates to share in a great location. Small cozy vibe, solid pretzel bites for bread and spread. Along with hearty moose stew on a rainy day, we also got the creamy spanakopita and meatballs which were more dense than expected. Service was very friendly but slower than usual as our waiter also made drinks and he was the only one serving. Drinks were delicious and not too strong. Overall a wonderful relaxing experience on our vacation and if you’re not in a rush.

We went given the reviews but didnt seem to have the 5 star experience that others seemed to have (understanding that rating food is subjective). The place was nice and the waiter was very good (shout-out to Clark, who was very professional), but the cocktails and food were just ok - at best. Nothing extraordinary and actually somewhat mediocre. We had the pork pate with pickled veggys (probably the best of of the dishes), chicken fillets (which were more like chicken tenders with an ok sauce to dip in), marinaded egg plant (which was fine but nothing notable), and pork and potatoes (which were also just ok). So, I guess overall we had an ok experience. It may have been just...

Absolutely fantastic food — some of the best we’ve had in years.

We can particularly recommend the duck confit, the short ribs, and the shrimp tacos. Each was amazing; each one surprised us with its rich depth of flavour.

Wine list is solid; we liked the Petit Syrah.

Desserts were solid, especially the homemade strawberry ice cream + matcha cake — though even a simple finish of chocolate and/or crème brûlée would have been excellent too.

Service was warm and professional. We came late in the evening, close to closing, and felt no pressure at all.

All in all, an absolutely top-notch experience we’ll recommend widely. ...
