I look at all the reviews and I see the management and or owners don't respond to its customer reviews, especially the endless one star reviews about food and cleanliness. Forget them not addressing awful customer service problems. That in itself says it all. I look at the endless 1 star reviews and no responses of any kind so it's very obvious they don't care so I'll take this action further up the food chain and I strongly recommend that you do the same if you have such hirrific experiences there as so many have. It's simply unexceptable for a establishment to run itself in such a way.
I do (not) have high expectations in a fast food place at all and I have ate at hundreds of subways all across Canada and USA, even Mexico so I'm familiar with the chain. Today I was appalled at the state of this establishment. The worst I have ever seen. For a $17 sub one expects a few things.... If I could give less than one star on each of these items I would. I've gone here a couple times and wasn't pleased but today was unbelievable. There was so my issues during this visit. I dont expect friendly smiles being minimum wage jobs. The customer service this evening was atrocious, and absolutely disgusting! There were 4 staff, all moving about all very slowly with no care for even mediocre service. There were 4 people ahead of us trying to patiently wait. One staff member even scuffing his feet along as he moved about.... nothing drives me more crazy...purely disrespectful. If the staff really hate their jobs that much then get new jobs and if you own a franchise like this hiring staff like this, you should really be ashamed! When ordered, they mumbled that they had no green pepper and other stuff, the tomatoes were not ripe.. white/yellow. We asked for one fountain pop and they said the machine isn't working but we can get it from the back... what the heck! Ewwww. (Didn't have a sign on the machine to say out of order at the very least). We said we will get two bottles of pop. We took two out of the fridge when someone said we only charged for one so we out one back.
All the staff were very unhappy staff, which is very obvious because 3/4 of the tables had food scraps on them, including chairs and benches and floor. We had to move from one end of the establishment to the other to find a less dirty spot to eat. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. The windows were absolutely fifty! With dirt and kids hand prints all over. This place is not fit to eat at and I can see complaints made to the health board if they don't get with it.
Find a different subway everyone. Quality and management expectations are...
Read moreI am writing in regards to the subway restaurant that is located on hamlyn road in st. john's, newfoundland.
i visited today, feb 21, and there has to be something done about the customer service that this store provides.
it sucks! you never know if you will get a good sandwich or a bad one, depends on who's making it at the drive thru. there is no consistency.
first off, i never got a receipt first or last. all day long i called this store [from 10:30am till midnight] and i never got an answer at any time, and i know they were not busy there at 10:30am.
i ordered a cold cut foot long with double meat double cheese extra veggies at the drive thru.
is there a limit as to what veggies and what amount you can put on a sandwich?!?!?! i ask this because i had ordered the same sandwich on sat the 17th and the guy that made it at 830am stuffed it with veggies. however, the guy they had on drive thru today, at 930am, its like he has a problem with extras. this is not the first time this fool has made my sandwich either. i said all the veggies, no hot peppers. i never got any olives, or pickles or green peppers. all i got was lettuce, spinach, tomato and onion. at no point did he tell me the veggies were limited, he just said the cheese bread i wanted was not available. i even asked for extra onion, and this guy refuses to give extras. he will use the excuse of saying there is not enough room. however, there is lots of room there. extra onions does not mean i want the essence of a few onion pieces. heck, i put more lettuce on my hamburger when i make it. a big bac has more lettuce on it than this guy put on my sandwich today. i have tried in the past to get the sandwich replaced and then the supervisor on that shift just refused to do so, saying the veggies i got is what i aske for, which is false. extra means i want extras, not small amounts.
just for the record, when i used to go into the store, id get the same sandwich and i would watch the workers stuff it with whatever veggies i have asked for over the years. i now use the drive thru because it is more convenient. the terrible service that this store continuously provides makes me want to take my business to mr sub, which is halfway across town from me, but worth the trip for better consistency with...
Read moreI had the rudest encounter at the Hamlyn Rd Subway today that I've ever had at any establishment. I ordered two subs and asked the maker if I could have one on an English muffin. She said yes and proceeded to make it. The fellow who took it from the toaster and did the toppings was clearly in a terrible mood, muttering something about another staff member and was curt with me. I know customer service can be a difficult job and I was very polite with him, not wanting to make his day worse. When he went to ring me in, he said that my turkey bacon sub couldn't be served on English muffin and got very upset because he didn't know how to ring it in. I stayed pleasant, it wasn't my fault and he was obviously struggling. I told him no problem, ring it in whatever way would work it out. There was only one other person getting served and I was in no hurry. After hauling someone else over who had more experience on cash (and who was also quite rude), he rang me in, slammed my sandwiches into a bag and said "Next time you come here, you're not getting an English muffin!" I was so shocked I just left. But don't worry, dude, I won't be going...
