From the moment I walked into Sun Sushi, I could sense I was in for a treat. The atmosphere, with its warm and inviting ambience, served as a mere preamble to the culinary adventure that awaited. Little did I know, it was not only about the food, but also the exceptional service led by the commendable William Talbot that would leave a lasting impression. As a sushi connoisseur, I've tasted this delicate cuisine from different corners of the globe, but my recent visit to Sun Sushi set a new benchmark. The sushi was absolutely spectacular - a harmonious blend of freshness, taste, and creativity. The high quality and integrity of the ingredients were evident in every bite, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to delivering an unparalleled sushi experience. The star of the night, without a doubt, was the sushi maestro himself, William Talbot. His dexterity with the knife was a sight to behold, slicing through the fresh fish with precision and expertise that can only come from years of dedicated practice. What made this experience truly amazing, however, was William's genuine passion for his craft. His knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious, making each roll not just a meal, but a story waiting to be savored. The level of service matched the caliber of the food. Prompt, attentive, but never intrusive, the staff operated as a well-oiled machine under the leadership of William. It was evident that customer satisfaction was not just a goal, but a culture ingrained into the very fabric of Sun Sushi. In conclusion, Sun Sushi is not just a restaurant, but a destination for any sushi lover. It's an experience that starts with the sight of artfully prepared sushi, continues with the taste of exquisitely fresh ingredients, and ends with a feeling of sheer satisfaction. A big shoutout to William Talbot and the entire team for crafting such a delightful experience. I can't wait for my next visit to Sun Sushi. Five stars across the board!

I wandered into the Japanese restaurant Sun Sushi by accident. The fact is that the restaurant I planned to go to turned out to be closed. But I'm not even a little sorry about what happened. First of all, I was captivated by a rather spacious room in Sun Sushi. The restaurant interior can be safely attributed to the traditional Japanese. As if heavenly bodies, hanging paper chandeliers, made in the origami technique create warmth and comfort. Various Japanese panels depicting hieroglyphics and sakura🌸 hang on the walls. Tables and chairs in the Sun Sushi are black lacquered, as befits the Japanese style in the interior. The windows are decorated with a Japanese ornament made of wood. I don't know how many visitors there are in Sun Sushi during rush hour, but at the time of my visit (rainy Sunday afternoon) there was no one. As for the dishes I ordered, I was satisfied. The Rainbow roll🍣 were delicious, although the portion wasn't too big (I don't know, maybe I was too hungry). I had to order another dish: Tempura Shrimp🍤 Noodles. But the soup portion seemed to me just huge!!! The broth was just great, the noodles were delicious! The soup seemed to taste a little sweet (probably because of the seaweed). I would perhaps prefer to have a little less Tempura chips in the soup (this is just my opinion). I also forgot to say that while the dish was being prepared, the waitress brought me miso soup. It was a nice bonus! Visiting the Sun Sushi restaurant was the best experience in St.John's. In addition to excellent food and a spacious interior, I was very pleased with the view from window. It opens directly onto Duckwort street (one of the oldest streets in North America!!!), as well as the harbour and St.John's Hill.

I have been to this Sun Sushi location a couple of times with friends, and it has been a great experience overall. The location of this outlet is right next to the memorial and there isn't much parking space in the immediate surroundings, but it's very accessible (and visible) otherwise. They're known for their all-you-can-eat options, but we didn't opt for that. They also offer a free bowl of miso soup to everyone, which is always refreshing. We've had a variety of their offerings (and they do offer quite the platter - a lot to choose from) and we've liked most of all we've tried. Service is prompt and wait times are minimal, but both of the times we were there it wasn't crowded. The staff we've met are also friendly and amiable. The atmosphere is a platter of some Japanese elements in a western layout and I always like the view that the tables next to the window offer.

As a solo traveller with a larger than life appetite, strongly recommend considering ordering from the ‘All You Can Eat’ menu- as it is more cost effective in the long run- even more so for two people. Besides the fact, you will get to sample a wide variety of items off the menu from udon, hand rolls, sashimi, sushi to even dessert, and truly everything in between. The service was quick and efficient once my order was placed, as the waiter routinely checked in on what I was ordering next (Duckworth location). I am always a tad apprehensive about authenticity and quality when it comes to places with more than one location- especially when it comes to sushi. With that being said, is there better and more authentic out there? Absolutely. For the all you can eat option with no drink, I paid plus tip $40.00. If you are looking for a quick sushi fix this is the place.

It's not the best sushi. But it is still quite good and very satisfying if you're craving sushi (which happens me a lot). It's mid range price for sushi (low price range being ASA sushi, mid-high Sushi island, high being Basho). Not fast or slow service. But they have cheap coronas, all you can eat, and serve miso soup while you wait for your items. The veggie tempura is amazing. The house salad is always a good choice- it's quite dense, and the dressing is addictive. Also the salad roll and spicy broccoli is to die for. 🍱🍣🍚 craving it now..

All you can eat lunch (February 2024) - The interior (incl. bathroom) is very clean. The service was great- The staff comes with a tablet and takes your order. Lunch menu was very good and decently priced. You also have the choice to order from the dinner menu at any time of the day for the Dinner price. They currently have a promo of 10% off (Lunch $26 and Dinner 35) 2 people + tip would be $70 for lunch.
