This is a decent pit-stop while waiting for your flight. Granted there isn't much space or options for anything else in the airport. It is cool to see a local brewery as the mainstay restaurant in St. John's International.
The restaurant fills up fairly quickly closer to flight departures. Service can be slow at that point, but the food is very good. There are quite a few heavy dishes on the menu, so it left little choice, especially as a vegetarian for anything on the lighter side. It is nice that they offer shareable menu items like nachos and fried pickles.
The biggest drawback is the difficulty to hear airport announcements while in the restaurant. You can barely hear the PA system inside. This can be an inconvenience if there's a gate change, paging, or any other changes and delays in flights. Be mindful of your time and aware of where you need to go prior to entering.

Read moreWent for a quick breakfast before our flight, and ordered 2 breakfast plates. Prices were rather high, but we understand to some extent that that is the way things are these days. However the total bill came to $65 for two adults to have breakfast and some coffee. The waitress came and asked if we wanted a "top up" on our coffee, which we gladly accepted. Upon reviewing the bill, however, we were charged for each pour at $4 each! Considering we did not get a full coffee, only a top up, we were disappointed that we were charged for it. Quite frankly $16 for what equated to one mug of coffee didn't seem right. We've never before been charged for a top-up or refill for coffee at any restaurant, and at the very least we could have been told that a top-up would cost more money. Food was subpar. Some of the bacon was burnt. Others were not cooked at all. Eggs were rubbery, toast was cold. And the end we were resentful for paying $65 for what cannot even be considered a sub-...
Read morePeople who work there are great…. However, the Yellowbelly owner should go back (or go in the first place) to business school. First time I tried going with some colleagues, they had to stop accepting patrons as they’re short staffed due to COVID. AKA, they underpay their employees so no one wants to drive out to the airport to barely make ends meet. Thought I’d give it another shot today… Bad idea. I got in after waiting for 15 minutes (restaurant was not busy, only a few employees), sat at the bar and ordered / paid for my food as soon as I sat down to expedite the process. 20 minutes pass and the bartender says they lost my order. By this time I couldn’t wait and had to leave for my flight. At least the gentleman was nice enough to let me take a granola bar for my fully paid meal.
If the owners read this, DO BETTER. You can’t use COVID as an excuse for your poor ownership and management.
Highly recommend eating prior to coming to the...
