Clancy's Pub — Restaurant in Stephenville

Stopped here on our way to Port Aux Basques to the ferry and was looking forward to trying this place. The servers were friendly and polite, but I had to get up a couple times to ask for things while we were eating. I’ve served off and on for years, so I understand when things are busy, but it wasn’t that busy at all. We had the fish and chips, but the cod fish was bagged pre-battered, frozen fish…not local or fresh fish. That just blows my mind…why aren’t you guys supporting local fisheries? We also had an order of wings, but they were cold and drowned in sauce. Likely because the sauce was dumped right out of the bottle onto the wings. There was enough sauce to coat about 2-3 more orders of wings. Huge waste. The food was disappointing, even for typical pub food. I still tipped 15% because the ladies who served us were very nice, but would’ve tipped more if I didn’t have to get up to ask for things. Prices have gone up ridiculously, charged $2.25 each for cheese and bacon on a burger, and fries are extra, so that meal alone was $20 not including a drink. We had to ask for drink refills with 5 empty glasses sitting in plain sight on our table. Price was written down wrong on the board and they wouldn't honor it. It was only $1 difference, but the way we were so rudely talked down to by the manager and waitress, who then proceeded to mock my friend in front of me after she paid her bill and walked away because she complained about the price discrepancy. Not our fault one of your 5 waitresses behind the bar didn't think to change the price on the board! Only professional staff member seems to be Nick who runs non stop all night. Used to be one of our favorite spots in town, pretty disappointing the level of disrespect we were shown. You don't yell down to regular customers while shaking your finger in the air and flipping your hair around, look up the definition of customer...

Great food and place, but that one server named raven white? Very rude. Shouldn’t even be working there (everyone else is great), but yeah she Wrongfully accused me of being someone else who’s an underage drug dealer and when I told her “no wrong person”, she kept telling me I was wrong (I am of age). then got petty and embarrassed because she was wrong, and told us to leave bc my sister was under age and needed an actual parent rather than a guardian to be there with her when my older sister was the guardian and was there with her… And come to find out she was rude to everyone...
