Dukes Place Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Sydney Mines

What an interesting place. Seems like a neighborhood pub (Which it is) but with pretty damned good food. The breaded haddock was fantastic. The burger was classic and delicious. No draught beers here. Basic bar. We were gifted with “Local talent” breaking out in song with a couple of acoustic guitarists. Who knew Billy Joel and Lynyrd Skynyrd could sound so good, belted out.

A highlight was meeting the chef (was that Duke himself?) and showing him our cross- country vehicle (Tesla is evidently a rare sighting in Sydney Mines).

Sooo fun! Great food! Great service! We drove by and thought...hmmmm....not your basic chi chi upscale, tourist bar...YAY! Veggie pizza was perfection, grilled haddock was delicious. Had dinner and drinks waiting to get onto ferry. Recent new owner. Busy getting place back in order. Very eclectic and will be super when up to date. Enjoyed the beer and food and good chat with the staff. Would go frequently if lived...
