When we first contacted the Queen's Quay for a wedding back in June they were the only ones in town to respond to us. It was a long wait in between emails. It was 2-5 days for a response at first, one email was August 18 with no response till September 14th. They set up a meeting time. When we showed up to the location the person we were corresponding with wasn't there and the staff were not informed we gave a budget and email. When we got an email back it was much later. They scheduled another in person meeting, she was SO NICE took down everything and said it would be free we just had to pay for the food. We thought the food was $35 per person tax included it was now $45 a person. And free round to "get the liquor pump going" and get people paying for alcohol. We waited a month to hear from them. We heard from them 10 days before the wedding which included several changes. The first round of alcohol was no longer free. They refused to acknowledge a price increase or give an apology. We had a late night snack planned, poutine to "soak up the alcohol", for free, we would like nachos now so they said now a late night snack would be $8 extra a person. They added an 18% gratuity. The seating arrangements were changed last minute, In one email she stated that the seating arrangements we've had for months were not good. She said they required every single person to be 2 meters apart while they sat to eat. We sent her an email with revised seating (a few days before the wedding with table decor to be made). We got no response about seating. We called the store to ask how they are seating people they said 6 to a table our original seating had way less than that so we had that.
They called us 2 days before the wedding and said we would have to stay on one side of the building for one part of the ceremony then move to the other part. Our decor was going to be in the part where they would be open so we were concerned about social distancing. They refused to give us a private venue saying it would be $10000 if we don't want people eating near our decor during our ceremony.
They gave us a really hard time about information about the table arrangements saying it is their problem not ours that guests will be near the decor during the ceremony. They acted like "honestly you guys are overthinking this". On our wedding during a pandemic. On the day of our wedding we got a text saying our set up was12 now, originally 9am. When we showed up there was a sign out front saying that there was a private event happening. It was glorious and beautiful they did an amazing job with the set up and tear down. They let us throw flower petals from the flower girl, confetti of dried flower petals right in their lounge. The music was professional and flawless they asked right away about music and prepared it very well. The venue was very nicely set out. It wasn't crammed or uncomfortable. There was plenty of space and the lighting was perfect. It was a tad warm as I was right beside the fireplace they turned it down promptly. The roast beef was so juicy! The chicken parmesan had the best serving size. The pasta was extremely dry, the chicken was battered. The cheese was non existent, not much sauce. The service was phenomenal. We had one server in particular that all our guests fell for including me! She connected with everyone and made our experience so perfect. I love how they told my husband multiple times to wear a mask. It was extremely comforting to know that they were taking social distancing seriously. All of the guests had a wonderful time and thanked us so I'd like to extend the thanks to you! It was a magical experience and the most relaxed wedding many have ever been to. It was my dream wedding. Amid all the stress they kept calm and accepted us with great grace. I commend the Queen's Quay for putting up with a stressed out bride and he groom. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing such a...
Read moreVery disappointed. We thought we had reserved a spot on the patio for 7 people, when we arrived we were put on the grass (since a group of 7 that walked in, in front of us got the last spot on the patio) and to top it off we were asked to put the tables together ourselves. OK, not horrible but we then waited approximately 30 min for our drink order to be taken and decided to order our appetizers at the same time. Drinks took another 15+ min to get and appetizers another 15 or so. We ordered our main meals and 1 hour later they finally came. My fries were half a basket, later explained after no credits were offered that they ran out of cooked fries, since it was now after 8 p.m. and therefore they were "portioned accordingly". And therefore 2 hours after we arrived my bacon cheeseburger (with no bacon)...the magement fought me on any kind of compensation and after going inside to discuss, we were credited 1 basket of fries and the bacon upcharge. Wow!! Not to mention, they were out of chicken wings (which is what I went there for) and no nacho chips. And this isn't the first time we went there and they were out of certain foods. Oh, the pop was also very flat....In summary, our server was very apologetic and I felt bad for him since his manager didn't making his job any easier, and after hearing the management talking behind our backs and initially not accepting any responsibility for their lack of efficiency, I recommend no one taking their business to that establishment. Sad that our only local Irish Pub on the water is so poorly managed. Our family will only return if we see a sign that reads "UNDER NEW...
Read moreWent here on a friday night around 7:30pm as a group of 4. After waiting over 10 minutes to get sat, and watching several servers walk by and ignore us waiting at the door, we were finally seated on the patio. It was no where near busy. Another 10 minutes went by before the server finally came to take our drink order. 1 person ordered a bottle of beer, the rest of us ordered water. It took 15 minutes for the drinks to make it to us, and when they arrived the waters had no ice and were completely warm. One one of our party ordered deep fried pickles as an appetizer, and all 4 of us placed the order for our entrees, 4 burgers. We also asked if the server could bring some ice for our waters. After about 10 minutes the server brought a glass with maybe 4 ice cubes that were already melted, not even enough for one of our waters. Fast forward another 20 minutes, and we haven't even seen our server, and the person drinking beer has had an empty bottle for at least 10 minutes without being asked if he wanted another. Eventually we see our server and are able to order another beer. We also asked at this point what the status of our appetizer was, to which we were told it was on its way and wouldn't be much longer. After another 30 minutes, we are all starving and there is no sign of our order. We asked the server how much longer, only to be told the kitchen hasn't even started our order. At this point we paid for the 2 bottles of beer, and got out of there as fast as we could. Over an hour sitting at the table, no food, mininmal drinks, and definitely inferior service. Definitely would not go back, and wouldn't recommend to my...
