I walked there yesterday with my daughter - arrived at around 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon. We were going to have lunch there before picking up another daughter from school nearby. When we walked in it was quite busy. There were a couple unoccupied tables, but they were all dirty. There was one staff running around frantically seemingly taking care of the entire place herself? She kind of mumbled something to me while bustling by. After sitting down at a dirty table with my daughter, I noticed an other table of ladies that seemed to be confused about weather they should be there too (I I definately foy yhe impression that my daughter & I arriving there was more of an inconvenience than anything). The table of ladies asked me how the place works? Do you order at the counter? Does someone take your order at your table? I was equally unsure and after a few more minutes of waiting, the table of ladies left since it was clear no one particularly cared about their patronage. My daughter then said to me she was very hungry, and at 3 years old I knew I was going to be dealing with a very hangry little girl very soon. We left shortly thereafter, having still not being acknowledged by anyone that we were there to, you jnowx sit and eat lunch. I was very disappointed, to say the least. Having 1 or 2 staff to take care of a restaurant at lunch is just silly. I'm thankful that I spotted a small deli across the street. My daughter and I went there and got some amazing sandwiches, drinks and cookies from their super friendly staff and then walked to a nearby park to eat them at the lake. I don't know if I'd ever visit The Naked Cup again since our first visit was SOOO off putting and the staff was so....not rude since they didn't even acknowledge us, but...well it was definately a very negative first experience. To anyone who experiences what we did - since I'm sure we're not the only ones this has happened to - stop by The Family Deli instead. You'll be...

So the main goal of this place is to have that type of customers who are willing to seat in group of four or more, eat breakfast, pay and go... I and my colleague (who was coming from another city as a formal guest) were looking for a fancy place to sit and have good coffee and talk for 40 min or so... We were well-dressed, very polite and formal... We ordered two coffees... The first impression was that the waitress she said "That is it? Just two coffees? No breakfast today?!" .... She brought us two coffees no napkins nothing, and imagine she can see that we are in decent clean and formal dress... After 45 min, she came to us and said, "Can you (without please) guys move to another table, here we have customers want to have breakfast!"... I asked my guest let's leave this cheap place... I took him to another place in Erie Street, which was nice, with great hospitality... When we were leaving the Naked Cup, I asked for manager... The woman in cashier she said I am the owner and manager... I told her the story and she said that this is our policy!! I told her that this is a very low-level and cheap attitude, you lose two customers and gain others... I understand that for sure you don't care about one or two customers and what matters for you is just selling more breakfasts quicker and more and more... It was also very interesting that she (the woman claiming to be the owner) had a very strong accent, yet she was treating so racist, it was the funny part of the story! that you may not see this attitude from locals but she herself was for sure an immigrant like me and my friend (interestingly she and my friend both from Eastern Europe!) yet she was speaking like a teacher, and it...
Read moreThey have a patio that's iron fenced and covered. The dining room was roomy and there's a nice display of their cookies, pastries and bags of biscotti. They make their food organically and fresh. Homemade. Not sure why they got a microwave but overall it was good. Maybe to heat things up. I do enjoy their cookies and hot drinks. I got a bag of biscotti and a box of assortment of cookies to go when I was leaving. Very delicious. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with home fries. The bathroom is huge for one person use. It has a baby changing table and two sinks. Clean. I think we'll be back and probably for the homemade baked goods. They offer gelato too. Lots of seating spaces and tables. Cozy and comfortable. Spacious and quaint. Updated 2025. New owners. New menu and food selections. It's not your typical restaurant and cafe. Has a good selection of drinks and alcoholic drinks. There's a limited menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The prices are high. Most of the food is homemade and it's really delicious. I ordered the breakfast with two eggs with ham and it came with a croissant. I didn't remind them that I ordered home fries to be added to the breakfast meal. It costs extra. Everything else about the dining room and patio are the same. Lots of desserts behind the glass display case. Gelato is still available. Staff are nice...
