Two star rating. One for the server Taylor who was competent and clearly run off her feet but managed to be smiling through it all. And another star for the view and general vibe of the place. We knew going in that the wait for food would be 40 minutes. No problem. We also knew that they had run out of fries. Again no biggy. If you know before you're seated that's on us. But definitely no stars for when placing our order to find out that there is also no smoked beef brisket or ribs we had to settle for burgers. We tend to go with the flow but still disappointing. Then comes the food and the crispy chicken salad was replaced with plain cooked chicken salad, as they had also run out of crispy chicken, and the nachos were definitely lacking. They looked good as it was stacked high with nachos but had hardly any cheese or salsa. I was digging through it to find some to make decent bites. Left more than have the bowl of nachos as there wasn't anything left to eat it with. Point being why give us menu's if you are out of everything? That's management issue. Hope your food shortage gets resolved as we would have liked to try the reason we stopped by....Smokehouse.

Our first time going. It was a very windy snowstorm eve.. the restaurant did not have many customers, but we were not alone on this stormy night. The place filled up at 7pm when the Thurs Eve music began as did half price appies! The menu has a lot of handhelds and some other options. 3 of our group got the fish and chips, more for lack of other options, not wanting a handheld.. were hoping for a brisket meal or smoked something... The fish pieces were bit on the small side, hubby was happy he chose the 2 PCE. Gravy was terribly overpriced, $2 for a very small container, some size as tarter sauce and coleslaw. I had the brisket, peppers onions and cheese on a bun with fires and it was very good, a bit messy, but good. We were surprised that they did not have any hot drinks, coffee and tea, but the waitress said we could run downstairs to Binghams and bring it up! Again, it was very windy out and cold... But we had to keep our jackets on, it was so cold inside..the glass windows and doors which would be wonderful, as would the patio were not made for the cold storm coming off the bay. We may go back again, because it is close by.

I among a group of six visited Balm.beach a few days back. We loved the reviews and the vibe from the beach looked great with all the hanging lights. Got up and asked for a table for six. The word I heard was No. And then the server said wait a minute. After a few, we got seated outside and were told that it's late night so only late night menu. We all got started with some drinks and another waitress came in to get our simple food order of three things. We held onto our drinks for about 45 minutes as we enjoyed chatting with each other. The second waitress who took our order walked by saying "did you get your order?". Then she returned after a few minutes saying we got a lot of mixups. We ended up cancelling our order and she acted as if she wanted us to cancel it. Trust me when I say this that it felt like first they did not want us there, second didn't want us to order and third when we did order, didn't want to serve us. The drinks were nice, which is why I am not holding my 2 stars. As in the pictures, the places is crawling with spider webs which is crazy.

The food is subpar and unacceptable. The meats are yesterday's leftovers. Nothing here is smoked; it's impossible. There isn't even a hint of smoke in the air or any flavor of the food. The staff is unknowledgeable. The cooks scream profanities in the kitchen that can be heard as far as the beach while they listen to rap music cranked so high it drowns out the restaurant music. Stay far away from this dive.

In response to owner reply...... I have experienced hundreds of restaurants and eat out weekly. The fact that I choose to exploit 20 or so restaurants for there lack of quality over many years is quite frankly irrelevant to the facts around what I experienced at your unprofessional establishment. To have small children with me and have to listen to profanity being screamed from the kitchen is unacceptable and unprofessional. To have YOUR WAITRESSES tell us that the "smoked" ribs are yesterday's and the wings are "smoked" today, but in fact according to you are not even smoked, is exactly the problem. Not to mention that we were told the cost of 8 minature winds was $$20. So yes, your wings, an app and a cocktail would definitely drive your guess check avaerage to the $60 range. There is a sign outside of your establishment that suggests that all the food made there is of highest quality, is there not? This is is far from true! I have been to dozens of smokehouses all over the country and continent and one thing is common, they all have a smoker and smell like wood smoke from miles away. Perhaps an apology for our experience would have been a more professional approach for you. One thing I will give you, the view from your patio was great, and the restaurant location has fantastic potential, if it where run by professionals or was a...

Went with my wife and two small kids (4 and 1). Definitely recommend this place and would go back.

Food was very solid. I had the island club with chicken breast that they smoke in house. You could absolutely tell that they smoke their own meats. The chicken was unreal - juicy, flavourful, smoked to perfection. Rest of the sandwich was delicious too - great flavour combos, super fresh bun.

Wife had the buffalo chicken wrap. It was super tasty too. Chicken was juicy and flavourful.

The only small letdown was the side spicy Kale ceasar salad. Believe it or not, there was TOO much dressing. It was a shame because otherwise I absolutely loved it. The dressing tasted like it was made in house, and the salad had a nice spice level which was a nice twist on a Kale ceasar. Unfortunately there was too much dressing and we couldn't finish it. I would definitely order it again though and just ask for half dressing or dressing on the side.

The baby had a grilled cheese from the kids menu and some tomatoes. My wife and I agree that the grilled cheese was so good we would have ordered it ourselves

Other kid had wings with no sauce. They were decent. It was hard to assess them fully because our kid did not want sauce on them, but they were good to the poi t that I would go back to try them.

Fries were mediocre. Fine as a side but nothing to write home about. I would definitely spring for the Kale ceasar again (just cut down on the dressing)

Finally, they are not really set up for young kids (they only have one high chair). The staff were great and very...

WOW! never again (and we live just up the road)....arrived and sat down. after 15 min and watching two tables that arrived after us get their drink orders taken, I asked the host if someone was able to take our order. when she arrived we ordered drinks and food to speed up the process. 2 pops, 2 waters....for the next 15 min we watched our server make all kinds of bar drinks for other tables. we finally got our drinks, two with ice, two without and room temp. we waited and waited and waited......we were sat 1st table beside the bar and not once did anyone explain the delay, or say we're really sorry, your food should be up shortly. after about 1 hour the server told us they were out of chicken wings. fine chicken fingers please. figured they were on our order now and it shouldn't be to much longer. watching the table beside us get their food and knowing they ordered at least 45 minutes after us was the breaking point. by this time it was nearly 8pm, they had closed their kitchen early and they were not busy at all. It was busy when we arrived but over 1.5 hours later it wasn't. For the first time in my life, with two starving kids, we got up and walked out. For the love of god, at least explain to people what the issue is.....its called communication. we had to leave because i would not be able to live with myself paying for whatever they would have ended up bring out and I'd still likely tip the server. Best view, terrible...
