Oh My Cod! — Restaurant in Town of Mahone Bay

My husband and I had lunch at Oh My Cod today on our first visit to Mahone Bay. The restaurant was very busy and intially the only tables were outside. The streetside deck is lovely but it was a bit of a cool day so we asked if we could move inside. Our server, Tony, came outside a few seconds later and had a couple of seats at the bar for us. As it was a cool day, both my husband and I were in the mood for soup. I am a fish lover, my husband is not, but as they had just run out of their signature soup, it was seafood chowder for the both of us. It was the best seafood chowder I have ever had and the first time I've ever witnessed my husband (again, not a fish lover) eat every bit of seafood in the bowil - and there was lots! Oh My Cod's seafood chowder is loaded with cod, mussels, scallops, and lobster. The salty broth is supremely delicious.Pairing with a tall glass of cider is the perfect combo. I also have to mention the service - it was super too. Tony was busy but very attententive and when things calmed down a bit after the lunch rush, we were able to have a nice conversation about our Nova Scotia travels with him. I heard they are closed on Tuesdays - too bad because we'd be going back...

Will never be back to this place!!! When we went in they said there was no room for the 8 of us said we had to sit outside.. my grandparents are elderly and reluctantly agreed, yet 10 people walked in just after we sat and were seated inside with no issue, The service was terrible both the waitress and owner were very rude, especially with my mother (she vapes) and had it in her shirt it leaked and she took it out and was trying to clean it up and the waitress told her there was no vaping on the deck she said absolutely no problem at all well we waited awhile got our food and about 20 mins after the owner comes out as were eating and says theres to be no smoking on the deck, we were all eating and definitely not smoking and we all say were not and he looks right at my mother who had her sandwich in her hand not her ecig and says are you sure cause if you are you will be asked to leave she hold up her sandwich and says I'm not and he just walked away... very disappointed with the staff .. the food was good but the service turned us right against this place... we traveled quite a distance and will...

We're a large and fussy family of 9 and it is hard to go out at all and please everyone. This place is a real pleaser. This restaurant overlooks a beautiful bay with a lovely patio. It has a thoughtful wine and beer list. The food was wonderful. The chowder is delicious and subtle. The fish and chips perfectly fried, not greasy. The lobster croissant resembled a perfect lobster roll but with a better bun. The croissant was legit buttery and flakey. Lobster rolls can often have too much mayo. This one, heaping with lobster, was made with a light touch. However, what makes this place stand out is the service. I have to say that our waitress was singlehandedly the best waitstaff we have ever had. She literally ran to the grocer next door to get hot sauce for us, and when she learned that our birthday kid who had an allergy couldn't eat their deserts, she had all the staff trying to figure out what to do.
