Angie's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Middleton

My family and I had a long day, finding out some news after an appointment that wasn't the greatest. We hadn't eaten since lunch and by now it was 6pm. We decided to go to this restaurant because others had told us about it. There were a few other couples/people waiting for their food not busy at all(maybe 6 tables). We were seated by one waitress, and then another new waitress came to take our drink order(waters with lemon), we waited for maybe 15 min for the first waitress to bring them and had to ask for lemon. Then the new waitress came back to take our order. We waited, waited, waited while others got there meals it was about another 35 minutes for 3 soup, 1 order of fried and two simple sandwiches! Then the first waitress came back to tell us the waitress who took our order didn't put it in. So we were so hungry by then and it was 6:45pm so we weren't walking out. Another 15 mins, gor served and the fries were recooked, the Soups were lukewarm, so we sent them back. The waitress in charge docked only 10% after all of that and the new waitress was very rude, no bedside manner( which is important in the restaurant business)to my mother in law who is an elder. I heard this place was good so drove 20 km to try it. Bad Idea... I asked if the meatloaf was good and was told it was one of their favourites. I had the meatloaf and there was no meat in it... just bread. Two pieces of thinly sliced things that were like bread with some ketchup on top. They were so thin they didn't want to give out even thin fake meatloaf. Mashed potatoes tasteless and microwaved like they had been through a nuclear explosion. Service was nice, friendly staff - terrible food. Among the worst ever food I had to eat.... didn't want to make a fuss, paid the bill and left. Never again. Do not recommend. Do not waste your hard earned money. After reading all the nice reviews on this place I can only imagine they are relatives or friends, or too polite and want to support local businesses with niceties. My experience with the food. Horrible. I don't understand how one can serve such garbage and smile.... it is very odd and kind of cruel. Update in owners reply blames me for the bad food for talking on my cell phone during meal... Ha!.... blame customer for inedible food.. .this is sign how bad it...

I was genuinly surprised to see such good reviews after my partner and I decided to check Angie's out for the first time this morning. We came at 10:55 and discovered they opened at 11 so we waited, and the waitress who opened the door seemed annoyed with us being there right from the beginning. When we were seated and asked about breakfast, we were told that they don't do breakfast which is absolutely no problem at all, but it was the way she was speaking to us that bothered me. She suggested another restaurant which was great but it was the "I don't mind if you want to go there instead" while walking away with an attitude that made us decide really quick to not try their lunch instead, and will ensure I'll never go back there. It was just really unfortunate and I'm disappointed the waitress seemed annoyed with us being there from the get go. I get it, some days are tough but there's just no need for that kind...
