McDonald's — Restaurant in Town of Stratford

I'm not usually the type to complain about messed up orders but nearly every time I've went to this McDonald's (which was ALOT during dollar drink days) they messed up 75% of our orders. So much so I started using the app so I knew it wasn't a communication issue. They still messed up the same amount. So, anyways - tonight our order was : 1 fish fillet with upsized fries, root beer no ice. Big Mac meal no pickles, upsized coke no ice, chicken snack wrap meal sprite no ice. What we were handed? 1 med coke no ice, 1 diet coke no ice, sprite with ice. After handing back all three drinks + an additional that they said was rootbeer (was diet coke)... We finally ended up with the right drinks. Fry order was fine, but my big Mac had pickles. Ive picked them off many times before but I'm tired of getting stuff we didn't order and wanted to make a point. I pinched the cheese to see if they'd just return the old burger. So, we pass it back to her with the sticker on the box that clearly states "no pickles". Can you drive up front please? Yeah. Okay. Just as we put the car in park, the lady comes out with my burger, with the pinched cheese.... In the original box. 🥴 Thanks.. if I wanted to pick the pickle off I'd have just done so myself. Oh and - took a sip of my "finally right" large coke with no ice - and they ran out of syrup ! So, I have brown slightly flavored tonic water. Also, when my daughter took a sip of her "now right" sprite, it was water 🥴. 😡 We take our dogs out to run off some energy every night...we drive by this location every day, so it was convenient to stop here.

Update, November 2021:

They offered a replacement meal free, but - at the time we were on our way, racing daylight, and I wasn't very confident the "manager" I spoke to about the incident had even wrote anything down. I asked him if he needed my phone number or anything, he responded that he didn't so since i don't feel like arguing with staff about a "free order" that I supposedly have waiting there, I never returned for my free meal.

Because we live a busy life, we've returned since since the evening above. There has been a noticable improvement in the service and quality of food. The burger patties are fresh, the fries don't feel like they've sat out for hours....etc. Keep up the improvements.

We went through the drive thru this morning to get what we thought was a simple order. It was a blueberry muffin, a medium Diet Coke and a medium iced coffee. Simple.The girl that took the order repeated our order clearly and concisely. We arrived at the payment window, and the order is not there. He motions us on to the next window to discover that the gentleman ahead of us was charged with ours, and he was then recharged for his order. We arrive at the next window to pay and get our order. We get handed a muffin and was pretty much led to believe we weren’t getting anything more. We asked about our drinks, and it was suddenly like they had no idea what we were talking about. They thought we paid at the previous window, but we were honest and said we hadn’t. At this point, there were 3 women at the cash trying to figure it out. Then the debit machine came out the window wanting to charge us 2 dollars more than we were told at the drive thru. At this point ( easily 8 minutes) from the time we ordered, we gave them back the muffin and told them we no longer wanted the order. I don’t usually write poor reviews, but honestly the Stratford McDonalds needs to get their act together. This is not the first time we’ve had issues, and I’ve heard from several other people that the service here is awful...

Avoid - avoid - avoid Update July 2023

The last three orders have been messed up and missing items. I order via the app (to avoid the expected language barrier) so I know exactly what I ordered.

Today, they put cream and sugar in my black coffee and didn't give me two muffins that I ordered. I literally had to scream at the window attendant to even get her to even look at me, and even then I think she was hoping I would just drive away. I would give negative stars if possible.

The previous two times I ordered here were also missing items. So that's three strikes - will not be returning.

It's a drive-through "McEsso" (McDonald's + Esso gas station) so it is what it is: a limited menu, can be very busy around meal times, and they tend to run out of things. I'm not sure how they run out of quarter pounders but they did.

Usually relatively quick, 2-land drive thru. Accuracy is horrible so check your order...
