My heart broke a little bit today. As we planned our staycation from NS, visiting this bakery was on the top of my list. They have a great variety of baked goods that look (and smell) delicious! The bakery was nearly half hour from our Air BnB but I felt it was worth the drive! When we arrived, there was a sign on the door - 'cash only'. This surprised me for a couple of reasons; I've been researching this place for weeks and haven't found anywhere on their site that mentions taking cash only. We would have planned ahead otherwise! We planned some of our meals over the next couple of days around items we were hoping to purchase. And when you're in a small town community with limited banks, it wasn't readily accessible for us to take money out. I'm also surprised that in our current world managing the pandemic that they haven't moved to taking debit/credit, with cash being discouraged so much. I recognize that these services cost money, but for those who want to support local, the extra .30 added to their items to cover the fees won't be a deal breaker. Sad we missed the chance to try their products but maybe another time on...
