Capitaine Frank Restaurant — Restaurant in Tracadie-Sheila

My expectations might have been too high. It was recommended to eat here by the local hotel I was staying at if I wanted to have some good seafood. I choose Frank's Combo (seems to have the owner's endorsement...) from their fairly comprehensive menu. It consisted of 4 scallops, 4 shrimp and a piece of cod with choice of side. The batter was light and the seafood was cooked to an appropriate point (not over-cooked) for deep-fried seafood. I was disappointed in the accompanying french fries that were soggy and tasteless...seemingly cooked for the shorter duration that the seafood was cooked. The atmosphere was pleasant and service was quick...although there were not many patrons present when ordering. In general, this meal was comparable a local take-out style fish and chip place like Dixie Lee or Deluxe. The downside was the pricing and serving side was calibrated more towards a sit down restaurant. On this occasion, I would have preferred my selection from one of the other take-out style locations as a better value for my dollar. I won't write Capitaine Frank's off completely and next time I'll choose an item not deep-fried in hopes to truly appreciate the vast menu available and live up to the expectations of that conveyed...

If you want fresh seafood this is the place to go. But don't worry if you don't like seafood they have a wonderful menu that also includes kids. I have yet to get something that I didn't like. The service is friendly and really helpful. Why I say that well it's because I don't like the tartare sauce that comes with fish, I usually ask for Mayonnaise and if there's only miracle whip I simply go without sauce, but the wonderful server we had took the initiative to ask the chef if they had any other sauce for fish and brought me some. So all around great food, prices...

This is a nice place to get a bite to eat in the area.

Service was prompt and friendly, and food arrived relatively quickly which was nice.

We tried the suggested seafood chowder which was great as it had lobster, scallops and shrimp included.

I had ordered the surf and turf flank steak which was a tad salty but still very good. The issue was that I didn't get the seafood portion, and I believe this was just a language barrier issue. The meal was still quite good regardless.
