Sea Shack au bord du lac is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon during a visit to the Bécancour equestrian competitions. Initially, I was searching for a place to enjoy some seafood and relax after the event. While considering my options, I came across this small shack by the river, and although I wasn't dressed for a more upscale venue, the beautiful sunset pictures and the casual, welcoming atmosphere of Sea Shack drew me in.
From the moment I arrived, the view was even more breathtaking than the photos suggested. The sound of the river waves gently lapping against the shore transported me to a place far more serene than I expected—a rare experience in a small Quebec town. It felt as though I was walking along a southern beach, with the kind of tranquility that is hard to find.
We decided to indulge ourselves and ordered a lobster roll, a shrimp roll, and fried calamari. The portions were much larger than expected, and the quality surpassed all expectations. The freshness of the seafood was evident, and the flavors were well-balanced, making every bite a delight. The price, which initially seemed steep, was more than justified by the portion size and the overall experience.
To complement the meal, I had a pink lemonade and a piña colada, which added a refreshing, tropical twist to the experience. The drinks, coupled with the river's soothing ambiance, truly gave the meal a Caribbean feel, making me forget I was still in Quebec.
The service was another highlight. The staff were not only quick and efficient but also incredibly warm and friendly. Their genuine smiles and engaging conversation added a personal touch that made the meal even more enjoyable.

Read moreI ran into this place years ago while going to Trois Rivieres and the east coast. I've been going there every summer just to have a lobster roll or fried shrimps since. It's definitely not the real deal sea Shack for live fish like Rimouski, Matane, Gaspe but it's damn close and amazingly great. Their hospitality and service is really good. Very friendly, awesome view and incredible feeling of being close to sea. Prices are very acceptable. Definitely a place to go to when wanting to get away from city noise and kaos. I'm from Montreal and go there at least 3, 4 times during summer. Especially on my way to the east coast. Try it, you...
Read moreI have been wanting to try this restaurant all summer and I am so glad I came on their last day for this season. The service was professional and friendly. I had the shrimp roll and the breaded shrimps (sorry forgot to take a pic of the shrimp roll) and they were both absolutely delicious! Everything was cooked well and the seasoning was on point. I really liked the slaw. Plus the georgeous weather made everything better. Definetly a must, during the summer in the...
