Armada Inn Motel & Restaurant — Restaurant in Unity

First, I was dealing with a young lady at the front desk. Everything was fine there until an older lady started talking from the laundry room which was next to the office. She was eavesdropping but only hear a small part of what I said. I really wanted to tell her to go back to her corner but let her say her piece. Once I informed her of what I already said to the young lady was that the company I work for if hadn’t called will be calling very shortly and if there was a problem let me know and I would put the room on my credit card. ||This motel is very outdated and the mattress felt like it had been there since the 70’s. It had coil springs in it and was very uncomfortable. The A/C was very loud. Turned it off but had to turn it back on because it was really hot. I guess they felt the need to put me with the work crews because as always they don’t know when it’s time to sleep and put the beer away. ||Every two hours it seemed there was a train rumbling by and a hwy that came up to a stop sign next to the hotel. Not that it’s the hotels fault for jerks driving loud trucks and using their jake at 1:00 am but it is right beside the hwy. (I drive a truck and do not do that.)||The shower curtain smelled of puke which was seriously disgusting and these people are too cheap to use the little bottles of shampoo. No, they had little ketchup packets without the zigzag easy to tear top. First one I used I fought with until I got it open just enough to squeeze the shampoo out, next day used my nail clippers to open the other one. ||Like the restaurant here I would advise to stay...

You can tell this is an older motel, but it has been well maintained and updated. Our room was well lit, with a comfortable bed, a good value for the price we paid. The room faced toward the highway and railway tracks, but it was not overly noisy with the windows open.Light sleepers might prefer to keep the windows closed, however. A local resident bragged that there are 86 trains a day on that rail line. ||||The attached restaurant seems to be the place to go in Unity. The dinner special was roast beef with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The vegetables were frozen (not really a surprise), but cooked properly so they were not soggy. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were prepared from scratch in the kitchen. The roast beef was very good, much better in fact than I would have expected for the price. No doubt the quality and value explained the large volume of business they were getting from the local residents. We were there on a Monday. Perhaps that is "roast beef dinner" night, as it is not a regular part of the menu. Eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast the next morning were also very good. The servers for dinner and for breakfast were very personable and efficient, and the food arrived at our tables quickly.||||We were quite impressed with this motel and restaurant and found it to provide a very good value for our stay.
