Nine Restaurant and Lounge Clear Lake Golf Course — Restaurant in Unorganized Division No. 17

From the second we got there, Sauntè greeted us with a bright smile and very warm welcome. We were quickly sat at the window facing the ninth hole ( we did have reservations). We we given menus and water and very comfortable conversation. We loved the atmosphere. Not pretentious but a very elegant environment. Quickly our wine was brought we went through various enquiries only to settle on 2 appetizers: the scrumptious mussels in an amazing tomato based sauce, and some crispy mushrooms that were so surprisingly crunchy and delicious complimented with a lovely cream dipping sauce! We were pretty filled up so we split an entree which was fantastic! It was lamb with a dark, rich gravy with mushrooms and a mouthwatering cornmeal version of “mashed potatoes” so rich and wonderful that the bone was the only thing left and we we stuffed! The convenience of sending an email using the form on their website to make a reservation was appreciated. I was contacted by email shortly after to provide my phone number and confirm the reservation. Service was excellent. Our server recommended the Bread & Butter chardonnay, which was poured at the table into a chilled wine glass, to pair nicely with the Seafood Pasta. The pasta had a good amount of mussels, scallops, and shrimp that were cooked well. I thought it was an overall tasty dish, although I would have liked the rosé sauce to have more flavour and there to be garlic in the butter on the toasted bread. We enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Bites for an appetizer. They were plated beautifully and a delicious flavour combination of marinated ahi tuna, green onion, sesame seeds, and nori served on a crispy rice square. We love Clear Lake and love to support local restaurants when in town however was very disappointed in dining at Nine tonight. The service was good and the request for a specific table overlooking the 9th hole and Clear Lake was kept however if you are forced to keep the blinds shut then the table is useless. I’m assuming it was the Nine manager who rudely forced the blinds down in the middle of our meal without explanation. Had she taken more time to explain why and even asked us once how our drinks and meal was we could have been more understanding. The ribs were tough and somewhat rare to the point of not finishing the meal as the pork was just too rare to eat.
