We returned this year because we were quite satisfied with our experience from the previous year. However, this year’s experience was quite disappointing to say the least. We came in at 8:15PM July 1, 2022 and were told to wait since the restaurant was full. The manager Richard explained that he didn’t want to rush the other patrons and take away from their experience so he can’t give a time on when we will be seated.
When we were able to sit at a table an hour later, we were given the late night menu, since it was already 9:15 PM and at 9PM the restaurant switches to the dinner menu. We asked our server if we can still order from the dinner menu because when we came in, it was still before 9PM. They said they will ask the kitchen staff to check.
What transpired afterward was a very unpleasant experience. The manager, Richard, explained to us in a condescending manner that according to his clock it was already minutes past the hour, then it means they’re no longer serving the regular dinner menu. I for one didn’t appreciate the sarcasm. I can tell from his reaction and the manner he was talking to us that he felt annoyed. He also asked us if it was our first time here, which I found irrelevant to the situation. Why even bring up being a first time visitor? Did he assume that was the case because of the colour of our skin? And if it indeed was our first time, he was not making a good impression.
He then tried to explain and said if we wanted to order from the dinner menu, we could’ve just ordered when we arrived, ordered to-go, and ate at the tables in the hotel lobby for next time. That would’ve work for us since we actually waited in the hotel lobby tables. And obviously that suggestion was too late, and as the saying goes hindsight is 20/20.
We didn’t need to hear his rant or go into his explanation, he could’ve just apologized for the inconvenience of waiting and said there was nothing that can be done with the late night menu policy. That would’ve been okay.
The manager should have handled the situation better and it’s unfortunate that he did not give us the same level of accommodation and concern compared to the patrons that he “didn’t want to rush”. He is a poor brand ambassador for your company and doesn’t embody the level of professionalism and service we experienced before this visit.
I hope the management gives this manager better training to serve their future customers better. As for us, I don’t think we’ll be visiting anytime soon, and we’ll tell our friends and familiar that their money is better...

Service from day one of our dinner is amazing and our server is EMILY. Very attentive to guest even she has 4 tables. We’re very tired that night and she take care of our table and left very satisfied. You will have chance to try everything if you will stay long at the hotel because the menus huge. The strong points are the appetizer. Big portion, tasty and well prepared. Chicken wings, tofu bites, French onion soup, tuna seared salad and PEI mussels are my recommendation.
Things to avoid Don’t order pizza. It’s not 12 inch and every bite has a burnt taste because the dough is obviously frozen. Some of the entrees are badly prepared. Seafood paella is not bake so it’s doesn’t have crisp texture. Its like a seafood risotto with seafood toppings which all of them are overcook. Ribs chewy and mixed vegetable are slightly raw because it’s crunchy. Sauce is good it has smoky taste Steaks are tough even it’s cooked medium rare indicating the steaks are frozen. And lastly our server on last night is very bad. I finished my entree with dirty appetizer PLATES besides me and never pick up because he said “I am busy” even he has only two tables that night.
Overall experienced is just okay. We didn’t enjoy our last dinner because of the bad server and poorly executed entree.
PS: promote Emily to be the front of the house manager. Her service skills and work etiquette is impressive. We saw her how she handled the a very busy situation, swarming lot of customer at the same time and for someone who works at the same industry, she really knows how to...
Read moreSome of the food wasn't too bad, but not as good as last year or the year before. The quality has been steadily declining. The service is abysmal- they give you a menu and then you sit for 30 minutes before they come back for the order. Plus the wait staff doesn't speak English well, so it is hard to understand what they say, especially given the din in the place - the noise level was terrible. I couldn't carry on a conversation with my dinner companion without shouting and continually asking "what?"... My companion joked about having to text each other... Things seem in poor repair as well. They used to have a nice sort of fountain feature and that wasn't working. I've come here a lot over the year but I am doubting I will come...
