Pizza Bella — Restaurant in Val-d'Or

A decent restaurant with lots of choices, but "Pizza" should be removed from the name. It's very misleading and an embarrassment.

I used to REALLY enjoy pizza from Pizza Bella whenever I visited the area. The restaurant used to offer an old-time Montreal style pizza with the delicious pepperoni. It was a real treat. But it's been a few years since my last visit and I decided to treat myself recently as I was visiting the area.

My wife was happy to order pasta with meat sauce and was very pleased. A friend of ours had a submarine and she was happy with it. I decided on the pizza.

What happened??? The "pizza" was an embarrassment and should NEVER have left the kitchen, let alone delivered to a customer.

The "crust" was just that... Crusty. Stale with a cardboard texture. The sauce tasted like overcooked ketchup. There were a TON of toppings, but nothing particularly special or tasty with some cheese baked on top.

I may return to Pizza Bella again in the future for another choice of meal, but after this, there's no way I can recommend the pizza. Honestly, I've had better pizza at a gas station than this joke of a meal.

Absolutely worst service I’ve ever encountered. Pizza wasn’t half bad but the wrong pizza was delivered after 45 minutes and the best the idiot on the other end of the phone could do was offer to send me another. Since it had been 45 minutes for the first and it was late at night, I asked for a refund instead. When the employee responded that wasn’t possible I asked to speak with his manager, at which point this fool PRETENDED to be the manager (like I wouldn’t notice the voice on the phone hadn’t changed…). Stay away from this place at all cost. There are much better places in this town. Not worth the hassle. I plan to contest the charge with my credit card company and let them deal with it. The portions are really big and generous. Offers pizza of many kinds, aswell as some italian dishes like lasagna/fettuccine and such. Souvlaki/giro greek. The rest is mostly canadian, like many kinds of poutine; steak, hamburger, chicken etc..

The star given is mostly for quality versus price. The restaurant posses a nice atmosphere and it's comfortable to be there. The food, beside the onion ring in my opinion, is very good. Deserts are normal except the chocolate cake - it's portion could feed easily 2 people.

To get 5 stars, in my opinion, they should just readjust their portion a bit (a bit tinier) and also make it a bit cheaper. A great place to have...
