I would have much preferred to have been able to have left a 5 star rating, however, there were six black marks made before we decided to bail out.
We waited for about 10 minutes and when the server acknowledged us standing there, she turned to grab something for another table and when she came back to us, still waiting she said “oooops, I forgot about you.” That was the first black mark. Perhaps saying “I appreciate your patience” would have been better. We asked for Pilsner. They didn’t have the one we like so we asked what was on tap and she said “it’s a Pilsner, orrrrr maybe it’s an ale”….so we said ok. Being that we asked for Pilsner, she should have clued in that we were after a light beer since we also asked for a side of clam. She brought the beer and it was DARK. My partner cringed and I tried to be pleasant and said we would try it. There was no offer to bring us something else and it seemed like we were expected to accept it. I drank about half and my partner managed about 1/4. So my advice here to her was to know the beers on tap rather than saying “it’s an IPA” and not knowing when asked what an IPA is. Read your customers. 2nd black mark. We ordered. He ordered the bison burger with the smoked meat on it…and NO ONIONS because he has an allergy, with the side being poutine. I ordered the pastrami on rye with a Caesar salad side. The dishes were brought out fairly quickly. They had poutine on my plate and I immediately mentioned to the server that I had ordered the salad and she said “just keep it and I’ll get the salad.” We inspected my partner’s burger and sure enough, there were onions so when she came back with my salad, we let her know that there were onions and he couldn’t eat it, so she took it back. Onions and wrong side dish = third and fourth black marks. We sat and waited for ketchup, salt, pepper, and vinegar. Nothing. So I got up and asked. We waited for about 5-6 minutes longer and by that time, the poutine was cold - 5th black mark. PSA - if you’re expecting croutons in the Caesar salad, don’t order it. It comes with pork belly chunks so if that’s not your thing, avoid it. The last straw for us was when the server came out with the condiments, looks at my partner and says “how allergic to onions are you? Like deathly allergic?” I was absolutely horrified!!!! To me that said that the kitchen was just going to scrape them off the burger and send it back out. NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL!!!! 6th black mark and the blackest of all of them. It doesn’t matter how bad an allergy is, a server does not ask that and requests that the kitchen makes it right.
I had offered to at least pay for the beer that we didn’t finish but the serving staff said that it was on them….which was appreciated.
There were as many serving staff as there were tables with customers so the neglect and blatant disregard for us as paying customers that we felt was disheartening. I believe that the serving staff needs a little more training on their products and sensitivity to customers’ requests for specific foods not being included in a meal, regardless of reason.
I believe that this restaurant has potential, but sadly, we didn’t...
Read moreAte there this evening & the service was horrible It took 20 mins before anyone even spoke to my table & took a drink order. 20 mins of us sitting there waiting and staff walking by and not even acknowledging us When our drink arrived I didn't get creamer for my tea and my husband had to go hunt it down.
Then when the appies can they were good tastes (we got nachos and mussles) but we didn't have any side plates or and sour cream & salsa brought to the table. We had to bother the hottest about the nachos dips.
No one came to see how the appies were tasting the entire time we had them I had to clear thr dirty appie plates from out table to make room. As servers walked by our table with the dirty plate sitting there. (We only had a small table top)
Our mains came out before we were done eating thr appies (not the end of the world for us but I know most restaurants don't like that happening to their guests) We ordered the fish and chips with gravy and the double bacon burger & poutine. I did not recieve my gravy and my husband got the wrong burger. He waiting another 15 mins before the server came over to see how we were doing. I was also done of my main course by this time.... so he did not eat his main
This was the worse service we have received in months unfortunately we will not return due to that. The food it self wasn't horrible We tipped based on service received which was low and very unlike my husband (he is the type of guy who always tips 20% where I am more picky due to having experience on servicing industry so I...
Read moreStayed at the BW and wandered down to the Summit Grill located in the Hotel. Expectations were not high as we were tired after a long drive but what a nice surprise. After a warm greeting from Samantha, we were seated at a quiet table by a window. Started with the broccoli soup - Yum. Totally tasted like it was from mom’s kitchen. My partner had the Char and other than a comment on the fish potato ratio, she thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Louie Special. Ribs and wings. I selected hot wings with blue cheese dip. It came with coleslaw and cornbread. While the ribs were only slightly dry for my preference they were very tasty same with the cornbread. Loved the coleslaw (tart-not sweet. The way I like it). The hot wings were exceptional. Meaty, juicy and just hot enough!! Our server (Samantha) really topped off the experience. She was so friendly and engaging Summit Grill was a nice find. Looking forward to...
