Ordered pasta with shrimps, below average, even considering being in Canada. We asked for half bottle of red wine, couldn't choose on the menu because they didn't give us a menu, the food prices were written on the wall. The owner brought us half bottle (0.375 lt) and when he brought the bill we realized that for the wine we have been charged $50. He was not friendly, very pushy, arrogant and not really honest. I decided to not give a tip after the wine price surprise and considering that he is the owner, not a waiter. He complained saying "no tip?" I said "no, is it required?". He said yes. Great food and service BUT watch for dishonest practices like getting charged for premium wine that is recommended, not requested. Two wines on the menu that day. Server brought us the more expensive one without asking first. $55 for a HALF litre bottle - crazy!! Not cool - not ever going back there. Owner did not want to compensate or be flexible in any way. This place is off the beaten path but don't let it fool you. There is an nice balance between classic clean flavors and with just a hint of a twist. The menu is different every day, so its tricky to order ahead. But frankly, this is the kind of place you need to just go sit down and enjoy.
