Talbot Trails Restaurant — Restaurant in West Elgin

Located in formerly Swains Greenhouse, Talbot Trails restaurant has been here since 2012. Lovely huge circular dining room with a wall of windows looking out to their outdoor patio. A wonderful place to stop to eat when driving between St. Thomas and Ridgetown/Blenheim. If you're going to Greenview Aviaries, this would be the perfect place to stop and eat.

Note: closed on Sundays and Mondays

Hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00-7:00

I have to give this place a 1 star. The wife and I thought it was a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride, and we love going to these types of private owned restaurants instead of chain places, we actively search them out to support the families. The hours on everything say on Sundays, they're open 9-6. We showed up for lunch at 1:30ish ,only to be met at the door by a guy who said they are closed from 2-4 to "flip for dinner". Service was very, very slow. We waited 45 minutes after ordering for just two sandwiches. A table of four who ordered after us was served before us. I had the triple cheese grilled cheese sandwich. It was definitely not triple the cheese. They really need to hire more wait staff. There were cobwebs in the window beside our table. The food was just OK - not great.
