I wouldn't recommend eating at this place, to be honest. The food was a complete letdown. We ordered Buratta, Hummus, and grilled cheese toast with a side salad, and it was all just downright disgusting, tasteless, and not worth the money and time we spent driving there.

Let's start with the hummus. Calling it hummus is an insult—it tasted more like the "cumin challenge" than anything else. And don't get me started on the portion. They piled on pickled veggies and olives, making it look like a sad attempt to compensate for the lack of hummus.

The buratta was a total dud. It lacked any flavor whatsoever, and the accompanying salad was a joke. They basically dumped chunks of tomatoes into a bowl and called it a salad. It felt like they gave me the raw ingredients and expected me to make my own salad.

Now, the grilled cheese toast was alright, but come on—it's hard to mess up a grilled cheese. The side salad that came with it was tasteless, and the dressing made it even worse.

I have no clue who their chef is, but they seriously need to check out the competition and learn how to appreciate their customers.

Now, let's talk about the coffee. It was a complete joke. I get that some places haven't caught up to the third wave coffee movement, but having two people behind the counter whose only job is to serve hot drinks and desserts and not being able to make a decent Latte? And asked me what a Cortado is, That's just embarrassing. It's like they don't even care about their customers. They need to hire a real barista or at least train their staff properly. If you can't do that, reconsider serving and charging for it.

When I complained to the supervisor, they tried to appease me with a couple of brute wine glasses. Honestly, that gesture missed the mark completely. I didn't come all the way there seeking a drink or some half-hearted compensation. What I really wanted was to enjoy a satisfying meal, which clearly wasn't on the menu. It seemed like their solution to their subpar food was to offer a beverage instead. It only emphasized their inability to deliver quality dishes. I left feeling incredibly disappointed, realizing that they simply couldn't serve up the kind of food I...

Giving a 3 because the wine tasting experience was horrible but the Cafe was great.

RE: WINE TASTING ONLY I initially went here to try the food at Annie's Beach Cafe which was great (see below), but then decided to stay and try a walk-in wine tasting at Frind since I was with some friends who were visiting from the USA. We got a spot really quickly, but then we were just kind of thrown the wine menu without any explanation. From my personal experience, wine tastings are usually set and since there were wine glasses in front of us, we were just waiting around for the server to come greet, explain the wines, pour, etc; instead she came over and did not even ask us if we had been to Frind before and just said "well, what do you want?". We then told her sorry we were not ready because we didn't realize we could choose the wines, she then told us you can choose 5 wines and it can be different amongst us. There was no explanation about the wines whatsoever during the pours, and for one of the tastings, she did not even get the wine I asked for..... We finally started asking her questions about the winery and that's when she started explaining the history behind it and the building. The only time she explained anything to us proactively was to tell us about the wine club which did not even ship to where most of my friends lived (she knew they were from USA as we had told her).

The building itself was really cool, used to owned by a Premier and so there's a room dedicated to him. The view was also amazing as it's on the lakefront.

RE: ANNIE's BEACH CAFE The Cafe on the other hand was a complete 180 experience. The servers were super friendly and amazing!! It is a small menu but still had a decent variety. The service was really quick and they brought us complimentary water without even being asked! They also brought us our food which I was not expecting because the cafe is set up kind of diner style where you order your food then sit down.

We ordered the lemon poppy seed and double chocolate cookies, (which they warmed up and cut into pieces so my friends and I could easily share) and they were soft and chewy.

TLDR; never doing wine tasting here again but would go...

NOT DOG FRIENDLY OR SAFE! My partner and I visited here this spring and admittedly had a lovely first visit. When leaving, we noticed gardeners scattering fertiliser over the grass. We returned on our next and final day to enjoy one last afternoon. Within minutes of our dog walking on the grass she started to go wild at her paws as if they were on fire. I should add that this wasn’t an excessively hot day nor had we been walking with her on any hot surfaces. We immediately took her over to the water to wash and inspect her paws and she calmed down. We returned to our table on the grass and she began going crazy again. Some lovely ladies on an opposite table helped us inspect further and we all concluded there must be something on the grass irritating her so we decided to leave immediately, called our vets, and took their advice on taking her back and bathing her paws. Upon inspection, it was VERY evident that her paws had suffered a chemical burn. We returned home the next day and took her to our vets who confirmed this was indeed a chemical burn often caused by lawn fertilisers. We contacted the winery to inform them of the incident and was told that the manager would call us back. We waited days with no response, so called again. We spoke with the manager who quite frankly could not have cared less about the incident and claimed their gardener said the fertiliser was deemed pet friendly so it wasn’t their problem. He refused to give us any information on the brand used so we could not look up the ingredients for our vet, and refused to apologise for the incident. I am disgusted that this is the response from an establishment that claims itself to be a pet friendly location. We weren’t looking for ANYTHING from you other than the name of the fertiliser brand for our vet and an apology, but your manager couldn’t even muster up the decency to offer that, or to call us back when we first called. We will never return here, and have informed everyone we know to be frequent visitors with their dogs to avoid your establishment completely. I urge anyone with a dog to avoid this place and save yourselves and your beloved pet the heartache and pain of chemically...

Visiting Frind Winery in Kelowna for the first time was an unforgettable experience that perfectly combined stunning scenery, exceptional wines, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of Lake Okanagan, which provided a stunning backdrop to the modern and elegantly designed winery. The tasting experience was delightful. Each wine we sampled was a testament to the winery's commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The knowledgeable staff guided us through the tasting with enthusiasm and expertise, sharing fascinating insights into the winemaking process and the unique characteristics of each varietal. The Frind Chardonnay and Merlot were particular standouts, with complex flavors that showcased the region's terroir beautifully. The winery's bistro was another highlight of our visit. The menu offered a delectable selection of dishes that paired perfectly with the wines. We were so impressed by our initial visit that we made sure to stop again on our way back. The second visit was just as delightful, confirming Frind Winery as a standout destination. What truly set Frind Winery apart was the welcoming atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience, making us feel like valued guests. The blend of stunning location, outstanding wines, amazing food, and top-notch service makes Frind Winery a must-visit destination in Kelowna. We can't wait to return and enjoy more of what this exceptional winery has to offer.

We had a great time at Frind a few weeks ago. The place was commended by a friend of ours. We had some breakfast at their cafe then proceeded to explore the grounds . It’s worth noting that the menu and seating are limited to said cafe till about lunch hours when the other side of the restaurant starts fully operating and serving lunch items. I’d recommend coming closer to noon if you’re looking to have a hearty meal otherwise their breakfast offerings are generously portioned as well. The grounds were clean and offered a beautiful view of the lake. There’s a dock you can walk up to as well but be mindful of the signage as some of near by areas are private and/or exclusive. The wine was good, with the reds (specifically the premier) being the standout. Whites seemed a bit lighter and less acidic - possibly a matter of preference or perhaps the ones I selected. It’s also worth noting these are available in BC Liquor Stores so I recommend focusing on offerings that are only available at the source. Tasting room was beautiful, as were their club rooms.

Dropped in just before noon, both my wife and I ordered take-out; grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. Wowee! The homemade bread had a great chewy crust, and a tasty blend of 3 cheeses, I think. The aroma from Annie's Cafe immediately washed over us when we entered the main door to the winery, and promised a lot of delicious choices for lunch. I had the bowl of chili, full of large chunks of beef. Also tried the lentil and pork soup. Both were excellent. Finished off with a dessert - a peach gallette, I think, with flakey pastry and lots of sweet cream cheese filling. Oh yeah, as we were walking out, we also bought 6 bottles of wine. There's a large tasting room, but decided to just buy the bottles and try them all at home. Beautiful setting on Okanagan Lake, and currently there are individual clear bubble igloos (heated in winter!) for small group dining. Reservations are required for that. Lots of parking, easy access for almost any size of vehicle that you're traveling in. Easy to walk around as this winery is not on a hill. Must see location
