I go out for breakfast every Thursday with my daughter. Today we decided to try somewhere new to us that we’ve been meaning to try. The Opus Cafe in Westphal just off Main St. It’s a cute little place with a few tables and that local owned everyone is friends type feel. The menu is very reasonably priced and though small has some great options. The 2 ladies were very friendly and full of smiles and a little chat for everyone. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my daughter the one meat option, she chose bacon. The portions were Slightly smaller than what we are used to here in Canada but it was plenty of food for us and perfect for the price. I’m hard to please but my eggs Benedict was extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. I might have found my new favourite place for this. My daughter really enjoyed her food and said it was more than enough and she was full. We will definitely go back and soon. There was a little mishap with our order going in but the lady was full of apologies and owned up to her mistake without being asked etc. it wasn’t a big deal and she gave us a tea biscuit to eat while we waited. That went a long way with us that she didn’t try to lie etc. Brilliant customer service and delicious food at the right price. The Opus Cafe & Catering

Finally open for business and had to try it out. This very nicely restored vintage building is now home to Opus. Was greeted at the door and seated by a new staff member. I was presented with very good house coffee. I ordered the skillet. What a feast. Please Caramelize the veggies a little bit or possibly season something just a little. I found the veggies were raw but the overall meal didn’t really have much flavour. The hashbrowns in it were ok but the bacon or something in it was cut very small and was very chewy. The ham and sausage were tasty and the hollandaise was just ok. The waitress did forget the toast at time of order but came around before the meal was served to make sure it was out with my meal. The service was good overall and will definitely be back. Parking was ample, barrier free and even had a ev charger. I didn’t realize how small the restaurant was until I got inside. To the owner - the skillet bowl does not fit on this plate and it kept rocking out of control. I would have taken it off the plate but it was so hot I couldn’t. One POS system for the floor may not be great. If one goes down you won’t have backup but I’m only bringing it up as it took a while for me to pay my bill.

Finally, I got to check this place out today. We arrived around 10:30am - no wait. It's not an overly large space, so it can fill up, but it is worth the wait. Delicious, home cooked meals. The wait staff were all kind and friendly. Service was super quick. I got the traditional breakfast, eggs over easy, with bacon. It was fantastic. We can't wait to go back and try more food! Do yourself a favor-skip the big chain breakfast restaurants and come here for a better priced, better tasting breakfast.

So we have eaten here many times and today we were bery disappointed. No comolaints with the food at all the food is great! but i am uncomfortable sitting to a small table out in the open. i asked if we could move and was told we could but if a bigger grouo came in we wiuld have to move which was not the issue, the issue was There was already 2 people sitting to a 5 person table!!!! so when we paid our bill bill she asked how everything was and i said the food was good!! but when i brought uo about the table the manage said everyine else is told the same. The couple that were sitting at the table were not ince asked to move 2 more people cane i. and sat at that bug 5 person table she did not say anyrhing to them about inly being 2 of them and had ti sit anywhere else. So i did go sit at a bigger empty table my spose and I and were abke ti eat our meal there but its proole coming in and sitting at bigger tables that nothing was said to that pisses me off and if we would have had ti get uo so should the 2 richer looking people who were sitting at the bigger table. Everyone should be treated the same and they weren’t and the manager was mouthy with me siad say says thae dame ti everyine and i Witnesses it SHE DID NOT. So we won’t be eating...
