A&W Canada — Restaurant in Wynyard

Myself and my wife came here to grab a quick lunch on our way back to Saskatoon. I ordered with only one person ahead of us in the lineup and we ordered a mozza burger w/extra sauce and no tomato, a poutine, fries & chicken strips.

I had ordered and went over and waited with the one other person ahead of me waiting for their food. Then other people came in and ordered and people pulled up in the drive thru afterwards and they were all served first.

The servers working the cash AND those bringing the meals out to people reached around my food deliberately for 10 minutes before I head to argue with them to serve me. Other people were becoming impatient as well because of this.

The table was dirty and my wife had to ask for the spray cleaner to wipe it off so we could eat and the garbage in the womans bathroom was overflowing. They got the mozza burger wrong with tomato and barely any sauce. The whole staff seemed unable to quickly engage in conversation and seemed lethargic and we didn't see any type of manager or supervisor. This A&W has been long known for serving good hot food. However the bathrooms were as usual, needing attention. But the biggest problem here is the unfriendly staff. As soon as you step up to the counter, you feel like you're intruding. Don't expect a basic greeting like, "hi, how are you today", or "hi, how can I help you today?" Just the usual "to stay or go?"... Usually said so fast and with a scowl, it makes you think twice about why you made the effort to come, especially in cold winter weather. Awful service like maybe their short staffed IDK... But then the guy charged us more money on the debit machine and tried to say it was the price he gave us. And then we paid he handed us our bag and the price of food was $5 less.... then he charged and said that's what we paid so we had to show him our banking charge before he would admit that he charged us more... so thinking this guy probably does this regularly we had to argue w him about the price being wrong... and then argue w him again when he said we didn't pay the price he argue w us...
