Perola D'Chaves — Restaurant in Boa Vista

We went here for lunch and food was nice . However there was a dog laid on the beach, very friendly and just wanted to lay in the shade however someone walked past and it barked so one of the workers there ( wearing yellow hat ) Picked up a rock and was going to throw it at the dog until me and my brother said no and said you don’t do that. His response was they are no good , dropped the rock and walked away. I told the manager that this would result in loss of custom as many people like us have pets at home and don’t want to see this awful thing happening . His response were “ this dog doesn’t like black people” . When in reality the dog is frightened because the workers keep throwing rocks at the dog. As an animal owner myself i dread to think what would have happened and what does happen when people aren’t here...

Firstly, Praia de Chaves is absolutely stunning - we stayed in one of the private villas that are also run by the Perola restaurant owners, and were made to feel at home immediately. The big resorts are far enough away from the villas so you have total privacy. Perola D’Chaves is the only bar/restaurant on this beach but it’s one of the best on the island and we loved it there – amazing friendly people and atmosphere, delicious food (especially the seafood!) and cocktails served until about 6pm at the time of year we visited, and then organised evening events which we didn’t attend so can’t review. We loved it so much for a late lunch / early dinner, that we returned the following week for more tuna tataki (best on the island!) and frozen daiquiris after we’d moved up...

We visited here for a Tuesday night theme evening. We had transfer from our hotel which did not happen on time. We thought we had confirmed a 7pm pick up but no show apparently they arrived at 6 30pm. We phoned and they sent someone out straight away. However we must take some responsibility for this think we all got ourselves a bit confused. So we arrived late and some of the food had already gone but what we had was plentiful and tasty. They even did us some extra prawns. The service was very good and Christina even met us on arrival. The music and dancing with real fire was something to experience top stuff.
