Nortenhah — Restaurant in Sal

Modern but sterile place, in the middle of the capital. We only visited as it was part of a trip we booked and I wouldn't go back. Inside was clean and modern with long tables seating your coach party, but you could be anywhere in the world, it has no atmosphere at all. The food was also bland and insipid. I know that they were catering for large parties but I've definitely had better lunches on other all inclusive trips. The only vegetarian option was a kind of vegetable stew/broth, can't really say what it was meant to be. It was tasteless and boring. The starter was 2 pieces of tiny bread with a tiny bit of tomato on top. The dessert was strawberry ice cream or a tiny serving of creme caramel. I know they are given a budget for coach parties by the organisers (Tui) but really this was the least amont of bland food that they could get away with. I wonder if Tui have tried it out lately and seen what is served up, I bet when they were given the booking the food was 100%...

It's OK but abit clinical for my liking. I prefer the more rustic authentic places, once inside this place could be anywhere in the world, very generic. Not European standard. Badly handled food.

This place is the oxymoron itself. You get charged more than in a UK restaurant. A slice of tuna as a starter is 20 Euro. No local people coming in at all. No wonder. It’s a week of salary for them. TUI and the local guides taking he tourist here for a fair cut.

And it’s not prepared to any tummy.

The sauce on the top was not simply inedible but was fermented. Simply dangerous to ruin your holiday eating here.

If you must eat stick to the French fries and ketchup. Maybe fresh fruit. Do not try anything else.
