We stopped here on our port adventure with Disney Cruise Line and I have to say the food was outstanding. The fish and the chicken was so delicious and I wished I had time to get another piece of Fish. It was so fresh and lightly breaded and fried! Nothing beat eating this delicious email and having beach front views. Sadly it rained almost the whole time but was magical and would highly recommend stopping here. For drinks we tried both the iced tea and lemonade and both were sweet and refreshing. Eastern Star Fish Bar in Cozumel is a beloved local gem offering a laid-back, authentic experience for both locals and visitors. Nestled in a quieter area of the island, this charming beachside restaurant serves up fresh, flavorful seafood in a casual and relaxed atmosphere, making it a popular spot for those seeking an escape from the more tourist-heavy areas of Cozumel. One of the main draws of Eastern Star Fish Bar is its focus on high-quality, freshly prepared seafood. Guests can savor a variety of traditional Mexican dishes featuring the island’s best catches, such as ceviche, grilled fish, and shrimp tacos. The menu also offers a range of other local favorites, including fish and chips, fried calamari, and more, all served with the restaurant’s signature flair. Whether you’re looking for a light snack or a full meal, the food at Eastern Star is consistently praised for its delicious flavors and generous portions. The atmosphere at Eastern Star Fish Bar is laid-back and inviting, with a relaxed vibe that captures the essence of island life. Guests can enjoy their meals while sitting under shaded palapas or at tables with a view of the turquoise waters, offering a tranquil and picturesque setting. The friendly and welcoming staff add to the overall experience, ensuring that visitors feel right at home. Beyond the food, Eastern Star Fish Bar offers a variety of refreshing drinks, including tropical cocktails, ice-cold beers, and fresh fruit juices. With its stunning location, excellent seafood, and friendly service, it’s easy to see why this spot has become a favorite for both locals and tourists. So disappointed last Saturday. My mom is here visiting and imagine I passed the ACTUAL decent portions of food they sell at the fish shop in bodden town.. telling my mom this restaurant in East End is way better. My BF insisted BT is better. I pushed no, let’s go to East End, it will be worth it. All for us all to be disappointed.

NEVER AGAIN!

First my BF ordered conch soup & fritters but mostly wanted the soup. Waiting for a while just to hear they’re actually out and he got back his money. Fine. mistakes happen, I’m there calming him down telling him it’s really not a big deal.

Here’s what REALLY pissed me off. I paid for the butterfly shrimp $11, along with a portion of fries which is written on the board as $3 additional. Collected my food & my mom’s and saw that I had no fries, and the shrimp was unbelievably tiny. The shrimp order came with fritters and 2 tiny tostones. I went back to them about the order of fries (kindly by the way) and had to sit and wait again as they took back the box. I went to check again & the elderly woman handed me the box back saying not a word. I checked the box and these petty, ridiculous and shameless people put literally a CHILD’s handful of fries in my box .. literally one tinyyy handful! My mom literally joked that they must of grabbed a little from someone else’s food box & threw it in mine. AND they took out the fritters and tostones away which by the way .. if you thought I only ordered shrimp, and those sides come with the shrimp.. and I paid ADDITIONAL money for an order of french fries… why would you take AWAY the sides that COME WITH the shrimp?! Foolish.

The seafood they give you has fritters as the sides automatically.. but no sense of customer service they took it all out & gave the tiniest “portion” of fries.

NEXT TIME! Will definitely be going to the other fish shop in Bodden Town where you actually get your money’s worth. So sad I was so upset I didn’t get a photo to post the “food” slops I was given.

Food is actually pretty good but portions are ridiculous for the price (way better options out there), and they need better customer service...

This business attempted to process my card, but claimed their machine did not produce a receipt. Despite this, the funds were deducted from my account, as confirmed by your customer service team at CNB. When I informed the business of this, they refused to acknowledge the successful payment and demanded that I pay again. After much back and forth, I chose not to proceed with the purchase and requested a letter from the business allowing for the release of the funds, which they also refused to provide. The owner said she wouldn’t speak to anyone at my bank or write any letters. She also refused to come in person to sort the issue out. In the end, we left without food and were not refunded. This is THEFT. Will never order from this place again.

Oh and here’s the kicker, apparently this happens all the time. I wonder how many tourists get ripped off by...

Beautiful place. Beautiful atmosphere. You have to order your food like you'd be ordering at a food truck with a screened door super annoying and they have kid working who you can't really hear much. Tons of seaweed in the beach and smelly. If you want a drink you have to go upstairs to the bar and come down again to sit by the water. Lunch we ordered was alright, didn't even know what we were going to get. Anyhow, this place is quaint and beautiful...Service is 0. Food is a 1-2. Ambiance is a 4..so I ended up giving it a 3. A Repeat, NO. But worth checking it out at least once.

I give it 5 for value. It is a no frills local spot, not touristy, go behind the gas station. You can sit beachside, or up top under shade. The service was great, very sweet ladies in both areas. The whole red snapper was fried up to order served with spicy pickled onion and fritters, you can go wrong with fresh fish. We had the conch stew, which was ok. The plantains were so good, perfectly crispy, moist, tangy, sweet. The whole meal for two with beers cost 28, so like I said, value!
