Best western bar in quindao downtown. Food is impeccable, quick service and friendly staff. Most of whom speak fairly good English or make a very good effort. Manager Henry is an absolute legend, made every effort to make us feel welcome. Pool, table football and great atmosphere. The food was BETTER than the usual London pubs, I can't say this is only due to locally sourced produced, but also down to the Amrican chef who obviously enjoys his trade and appreciates foreign taste. I was worried I may not find a local Waterhouse to suit my western tastes. After making a short, cheap trip to downtown i was not disappointed. Oh boy: the infamous LPG.

This is the long-standing flagship of the foreigner bar scene in Qingdao. You come here if you're brand new in town. You come here if you've been Qingdao for 30 years. You come here if you want to watch the World Cup. You come here if you want to throw up in the bushes at 3am. You sit across the street at Freeman's and sip whiskey if you want to get away from the LPG hoard. You pull up in your loud motorcycle if you want to try and impress somebody. You slide off on a skateboard if you don't really care. You hit your head on the way to the pool table if you're over six foot tall. You play Foosball if you're not very good at pool.
