When in Shantou China, one must have a go at their goose meat. And that's precisely what we did upon arrival.
Our accommodation was just opposite the goose restaurant. We checked into the hotel, left our luggage and off we went across the road to feast on our goose delights.
We ordered the platter which had the wings, neck, Web feet, meat of course and the goose liver. We also ordered the green veg which we couldn't recognise but very delicious.
Rice is on the house! Eat till you drop. And don't forget to drizzle that super fragrant braise sauce onto the goose and rice.
Tastewise, quite good as it has that yester-year feel to it. The fragrance emitting from the meat is really nostalgic. Food used to taste like this back home.
For those who think that goose is same as duck, I must highlight that goose would be tougher in bite but bette smell.
Price, I'd say pretty reasonable. 176rmb for 2 persons or about usd26. It was a full feed for us and definitely left us with a big fat tummy.
Service, not too bad as well. The usual Chinese style of service... quick n to the point.
Environment was clean n tidy. Dining-in was on the 2nd floor n decor was pretty decent.
We were at dinner around 7.45pm, and they had started to wrap things up already. So go early or perhaps have lunch.
