The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, made to look, or actually a well preserved Spanish style hacienda. The grounds are typical of the area, and are very well groomed. The seating areas are tasteful, spacious and airy. The service is mediocre at best though. The servers are well meaning, but they have no clue. The quality of the food is also mediocre. I guess it is a matter of perspective and relative to the culinary experiences that people have had before. However, the food does not measure up to any home cooked meal of a typical Cali home. The menu is not typical from Cali either, which I am surprised some people say it is. They don't have " sancocho de gallina" nor "tamal valluno", the most typical vallecaucano dishes. I also asked for plain "chicharrón", the server did not seem to understand even what that was. It is for sure not in the menu, again, a very typical local and Colombian dish. They had a "ceviche de chicharrón" instead. I said, could you just give me plain "chicharrón", after a while the servers understood and asked the cook. They brought me the plain chicharrón and it was then that I understood why they made it into ceviche: to camuflash the low quality meat that made this dish. It was 80% fat! Not crunchy either, but chewy. Horrible. I ordered panceta. Again, a disappointment. You can get better meat at any street corner at 1/10th the price. How did this place get so bad? What a shame that such beautiful place is not matched by quality food. Not good by either international, national, nor...
Read moreThis is a nice hacienda to check out. The river and the house are just outstanding. I took a shot at their food. (Couple friends warned me about their food) this place is not cheap for Colombians so I said this cannot be that bad ...but they were right, lol. There were like 10 of us and I tried almost every plate. The only good thing that I can recommend are the maracuya drink with mint. The rest of it was eh, (they did try tho) We had a small issue with bees. Apparently there is a beehive somewhere and since the restaurant was full they could not move us. The girl from the door was rude (for American standards) I am not a Karen by any means :) We ended up talking to the manager too. He kinda blew us away too so be aware of the bees if any of you are allergic to them. My cousin almost died when she was 10 from a bee sting. The place is def a 10. Must see! The food a 4.5. The service def a a hard 2. Note: Food is slow to come out unless you get the fried things, which I am not a fan of. I love Colombian food and this def not the place...
Read moreFound this Resturant on Google as I was looking for a nice place in Cali, Colombia to have a family dinner to celebrate our civil marriage. It is a gorgeous and spacious layout and as you drive up you almost feel as if you are at a private country club. Service was stellar, food was delicious and ambience was elegant and relaxing. Before the live band came later into the evening, the background music was American 80’s soft rock.
For 8 people ordering full appetizers, anteres, desserts and 2 pitchers of sangria the bill was roughly 750.000 pesos = to about $250 Americans dollars. Called same day to make reservation and they fit us in promptly,...
