The view is very nice, but you cannot appreciate it from inside the restaurant. The juice was tasty. Desert was OK, they have a lot of variety on deserts and you can even buy whole cakes for birthdays.
The rest of the food has a lot to be desired. 80k Colombian pesos for dry BBQ ribs with potatoes that were too oily is rather expensive. The coleslaw was not your traditional coleslaw, but it was good. I don't understand what is the hype about this place. This is basically a normal, but overpriced family restaurant. They even have an area with some animals and games for children. But I have seen better, if it rains you have to stay inside so they wouldn't get to enjoy that area.
They have live music both inside and out. The sound system inside is pretty bad, I assume it also gets affected by the music from outside (20mts away maybe) so it is incredibly noisy.
Staff came across as being nice people but in general don't offer a good service. Our waiter introduced herself and took our first order and after that many times she was in the table next to us and wouldn't come check on us. We tried calling her many times, she never noticed. She would literally walk by our table without as much as glance in our direction. In the end a waiter from another section was the one taking our order. Our plates remained empty in our table for a long while until we asked one of the bus boys If they could help us with them while we were trying to ask for desert. Someone from the staff opened a window behind me without asking If I was OK with it and without letting me know. If I hadn't noticed and stood up to the right quickly I would have been knocked out cold, such was the poor positioning of that window.
Despite the price, don't expect anything fancy, fork and knife were inside some paper bags on the table when we arrived. The chairs were made of metal and not very comfortable.
The music is loud and every so often they sing happy birthday or wish someone good wishes. I think it is a pretty fun place for children. You could see them running around happily.
Wear comfortable shoes and I would advise against going when is raining. The last kilometer or so to get there is a dirt road. Then they make you park about 200 meter away from the restaurant and you have to walk up a steep grass hill to get to the restaurant. Or you can continue walking up the dirt road, where cars continue to pass by. It seems they have 2 parking spots, not sure how they decide who goes to what spot.
When we asked for the check they asked to fill a survey. When the waiter read it she confronted us asking if her service had been so bad. She didn't even try to apologize for the bad service. She was our waiter yet she was getting the tip for the work the other waiter did because she barely spoke to us the whole time we were there and she couldn't even apologize about the situation. I get it, it is a hard job, that is why if you mess up, just apologize and move on, arguing or saying anything is bad customer service. We gave her a tip despite the issues so she gained nothing...

I think you can sum up the experience at this restaurant by describing what bad decision making can exist. In an obvious move to save money by not printing menus, they have a QR to scan for the menu. No big deal. Ok, restaurant owners want to save money. I get it. However, this takes you to a home made, inefficient 5MB PDF file, rather than a mobile friendly menu web site. Fine. More saving by doing it yourself. However, given the restaurant’s “remote” location, cell data on Tigo, Moviestar and Claro are all basically dead. It’s not secret or surprise that cell coverage is limited up there. What was most frustrating was not knowing what we could order because the menu didn’t download, and the restaurant didn’t offer wifi. So download our huge menu on your own cell data that doesn’t work here and no wifi for you. Brilliant.
Everything at the restaurant had the same, not-thought-out feel. Music was too loud. The singer spent more time (literally) calling people’s name to wish them happy birthday, and then singing happy birthday over and over. They clearly spent a lot of money on their stage lighting and effects which are completely unwelcome during lunch or dinner. Too much fake smoke & fireworks, strobes, spotlights flashing in the eyes of diners.
Service was ok. It wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad. We just needed to keep reminding the servers what we asked for 10 minutes ago…
Food was fine as well. It’s not great, but not bad. It really didn’t meet expectations given the premium price they are charging.
The view is stunning, the facilities are very nice, and the place has a lot of potential. They’ve just not executed...
Read moreThe place itself is nice, particularly the outside area with llamas and ponies, but the food and service are really bad. First we asked for a platter to share with my wife and found a hair in the salmon. Although they changed the platter and gave us a new one, it really spoiled the experience. Our server Carol was uninterested in checking on us or even coming around to ask if we need something else, she was more interesting in speaking with her colleague and totally ignore our table. I had to ask other servers for drinks, plates, etc. I mentioned it to her, no one but twice, that it was my daughter’s birthday, she just ignored it and didn’t bring us a small cake or even offered to tell us the person at the stage was making happy birthday announcements. That itself put a sad mark on our visit, for such a restaurant and considering how expensive everything is, you’ll expect first class service. We didn’t get it and plan not coming back or even referring it our friends, if you want to go for the view and the scenery, yes it’s an amazing place, but you should have low expectations about food...
