I booked a full coffee farm tour at Café San Alberto in Buenavista for February 10, 2025, as a solo traveler. Unfortunately, my experience with their booking process, pricing, and customer service was extremely disappointing.
☕ Forced to Pay for Two People Since I was traveling solo, I was required to book and pay for two people, which cost 390,000 COP (including 62,000 COP in IVA tax).
⚠️ IVA Tax Scam As a tourist on a visa exemption, I should not have been charged IVA (value-added tax). When I questioned this, I was told I had to pay it and could request a refund at the airport. However, I was never provided any documentation or clear instructions on how to do this. This felt dishonest.
🚫 No Refunds – No Customer Support Due to unforeseen flight issues, I couldn’t make it to Armenia as planned. I attempted to cancel on February 9, more than 24 hours in advance, but I was denied a refund with no explanation. My multiple requests were ignored, and when I finally got a response, I was simply told to email them, which led nowhere.
💳 Had to File a Credit Card Dispute to Get My Money Back Since the farm refused to refund me, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company—which I won. This was the only way to get my money back.
🚩 Final Verdict: 1 Star – Avoid This Place if You Expect Fair Policies While Café San Alberto is a well-known coffee brand, their booking policies and refusal to assist customers make this a place to avoid. If you're a tourist, double-check all charges, cancellation policies, and your tax exemptions...
Read moreBefore coming here, we spent the whole day on a coffee tour where they did a much worse job explaining coffee in hours compared to the young barista who attended us at this coffee terrace in just a few minutes.
You can truly feel the passion for coffee that everyone who works here has. The baristas deliver impeccable service and explanations. Of course, it’s no surprise that the coffee here is some of the best I have ever tasted.
If all that isn’t good enough, there is also a terrace with beautiful views of the landscape and the small village in the mountains. I will never forget this place, a magical spot in...

Came around 11am on Friday, not many people were here, weather was ivercase but perfect temperature. Then it started raining which for me is the best experience for fresh oxygenated air. Coffee wad good and still favored thr Capucino vs the regular coffee experience made special through a process. Road to get here is steep but for those like me who seek such little gems its worth the experience. Again if youre hungry dont...
