Rancho Cielo Alto - BY RESERVATION ONLY — Restaurant in Bahía Ballena

This is a must try if you are in the Southern Zone. We felt deep healing from the food, the atmosphere, company and the love from Chef Jazmin. Brought our two school-aged children, one of them tried the full 4-course meal with shrimp and tried all sorts of new produce, while the other opted for the children's plate of chicken and pasta and still enjoyed the started course of a lentil and potato soup. I've never seen my children willingly try so many new things...and wait for it...like them! We went on a beautiful night and ended up meeting everyone else there, the kids ran around and played with eachother between courses, it felt very laid back. Give yourself extra time to find the place, the roads are challenging and require 4x4, and give yourself at least 3 hours to enjoy your meal and time. It was our family treat for our last night in CR and was well worth it. Thank you Jazmin and family for opening your hearts...

We tried Rancho Cielo Alto last night and what an amazing experience. As mentioned already, it can be a bit difficult to find, but then we’ll worth it! First - the view is incredible and we enjoyed what we felt was one of the most beautiful sunsets. Second - the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is well done. There is definitely attention to detail here. Third - the menu is created by Jaz, who creates tico food with her own elevated twist on it. There are four courses, which is chefs choice. Each course was creative and so incredibly good. Lastly, Jaz is a delight. She welcomes everyone and tells you about the food that she has prepared for you. It was such a wonderful experience that we are already booked for our next dinner there. You do need to make reservations and it is booked several days in advance…. Its a great experience that you don’t...

Our recent experience at Rancho Cielo Alto was truly exceptional. The stunning sunset views over the Pacific Ocean and the inviting atmosphere immediately set a magical tone. The cuisine was a journey through the flavors of Costa Rica, with each dish showcasing fresh ingredients and captivating presentation.

What really distinguished our visit was Jazmin’s knowledge, passion and creativity in her dishes. We were also impressed the staff's genuine warmth and friendliness. This added a wonderfully educational aspect to our dining experience.
