We happened across this place after hiking in Cabo Blanco. We popped in for a cafe frio and even though it wasn't on the menu the owner Giani made us one of the best iced coffees we've had in Costa Rica so far with fresh chocolate lining the rim of the glass. He was super hospitable, very knowledgable of the local area and extremely passionate about the indigenous culture and peoples of the region. The chocolate was delicious but unfortunately we didn't have time to do the chocolate making class that afternoon. The cafe itself is also beautiful. Giani built it himself and his passion for living in amongst nature shines through. He's also an extremely interesting and freindly chap to chat to about Costa Rica and his experience of moving and settling here. I would highly recommend a stop in this place or if possible making the most of the beautiful surroundings and the owner's obvious passion for one of the classes / tours which we unfortunately could not. We will definitely be pencilling this in next time we are here!

This should be called "OMG OUT OF THIS WORLD CAFE" Went there on a whim looking for coffee, ended spending a long period of time talking with the owner in the man-made house/building of the (absolutely fantastic) cafe. If you're anywhere in the area, and I mean within an hour drive, you HAVE to go. This place and the people running it, were superb. We came for coffee and had everything but that. Well, we ended up buying whole bean coffee as well which I just tried this evening and it too was fantastic. (Hoping to get more if I can.) The tables and chairs were all made of solid wood, which was super cool. The cups looked hand made and I would love to have dinner of my own. Every dish came with a little spoon with a hunk of chocolate. And the cups were timed with it as well. They also brought a little dish with some whole cocoa beans for us to taste and keep for ourselves. Fancy smancy. Prices were really good too. If you miss this place.... You've missed out on a true gem

Visit to this place was a highlight of my stay in the Montezuma area. I enjoyed every piece of this experience. The cafè’s owner greets his guests by himself, and takes his time to get to know them, and tell them the story of his chocolate project. We felt taken care of, seen and treated with a personal touch. The focus of the project is to pay tribute to the planet and young generation - through delicious chocolate products from fair trade, manufactured locally. This approach is also reflected in the atmosphere and design of the cafè. I loved the mayan art decorations, garden surrounding it from each side, and the use of natural elements. The chocolate itself was rich in flavor and as a chocolate fan I enjoyed esch second of tasting it. I recommend the brownie - it was the highest pleasure for my senses. We also ordered a coffee and drinkable chocolate - all of them delicious.
