This family operated restaurant has been in business for 38 years! Roberto, the son, was our host and wait staff. He makes you feel right at home with his humor and charm. His mother, Elizabeth, still does all the cooking for their guests which is pretty incredible. The food is unbelievable! A fusion of El Salvadorian and Costa Rican cuisine. The family migrated from El Salvador to Costa Rica sometime in the 80s, and they integrated their El Salvadorian heritage it into this concept.
Folks this is a restaurant, not a soda. The food is at another level quality-wise. We had a variety of items (all fantastic), including ceviche mixto. Seriously, the best ceviche evrr! We had patacones especiales (fried green plantains with fixings), fried pork ribs, and a traditional pupusa. Everything was cooked perfectly and most importantly, you can taste the LOVE.
This is a must try in the Liberia area of CR....

We were enticed by the amazing reviews....then a little worried when we were the only table with patrons, but we're tired and hungry from our visit at Pozas los Coyotes. Thank goodness we stayed! We can vouch for the fresh watermelon juice, the chicken nachos, seafood soup, a papusa with cheese and beans and a churrasco with fried yuca and patacones. The chilero is spicy but FULL of flavor. It was amazing, delicious, memorable and I cant...
