Overall Great experience. Friendly wait staff , and great value for money. We came for happy hour and some dinner. Our server gave us some complimentary shots of blue curacao and coconut milk. For our dinner we ordered Ceviche ,Patacones and an empinada. The Ceviche was under seasoned and the chips were stale. We asked for extra lime and salt and that helped with the fish. The Patacones ( like a tostada made with plantain) was very nice. The chicken that it came with was smoky and tender. The em pinada was good as well. I had the Cheese and beans. We visited Soda Las Flores and overall had a good experience. The atmosphere was great, warm and welcoming, though not perfect — it could use just a few small touches to feel more complete. Still, it’s a cozy spot to enjoy a meal and relax.

The food was great overall, with good portions and solid flavors. However, when it came to my plate, there were two things that stood out in a not-so-good way. First, the fries were completely unsalted and lacked any seasoning. Looking around the table, there was nothing available to add salt or condiments ourselves, which was a bit disappointing.

The second issue was with the bacon, which was unfortunately chewy and hard to eat — I ended up not being able to consume it. Everything else on the plate was tasty, though, and the rest of my group enjoyed their meals without any problems.

I’d still recommend Soda Las Flores for its local charm, friendly vibe, and generous food. With just a few small improvements, it could go from good to truly excellent.

Visitamos Soda Las Flores y en general tuvimos una buena experiencia. El ambiente fue muy agradable, cálido y acogedor, aunque no perfecto — le faltarían unos pequeños detalles para sentirse más completo. Aun así, es un lugar cómodo para disfrutar una comida y pasar un buen rato.

La comida en general fue muy buena, con buenas porciones y buen sabor. Sin embargo, en mi plato hubo dos detalles que no me gustaron. Primero, las papas fritas no tenían sal ni ningún tipo de sazón, y al revisar la mesa, no había sal ni condimentos disponibles para agregar por cuenta propia, lo cual fue un poco decepcionante.

El segundo punto fue el tocino, que estaba chicloso y difícil de comer — al final no pude consumirlo. Todo lo demás en el plato estaba rico, y el resto de mi grupo disfrutó sus comidas sin problemas.

The food honestly did not taste great but it looked pretty. The steak in the fajitas was extremely tough, and it was bland. Someone else in my group got chifrijo, which is apparently a star dish in CR, but the pork was so overcooked/tough that it was barely edible. They only played 1 weird Reggae song on repeat the whole time we were there, it got very annoying. We went on a Saturday evening in summer but we were the only ones there.
