Out of all of the places I’d expect to eat great Indian food, a restaurant on the pacific coast of Costa Rica wouldn’t have been on the list. We ordered masala papad, chili paneer, samosa, paneer kadai, and chicken curry. Every dish was expertly prepared and for the duration of the dinner, I thought I was back home in India. My favorite was the spicy chicken curry. The chicken was perfectly marinated and cooked, but the real star was the curry—absolutely incredible. Maybe it’s the Indian in me, but after spending 5 days in Nosara eating stupidly expensive “superfoods” that put my taste buds to sleep from sheer boredom, Tandoor was such a refreshing change. Read moreI am an Indian. I know good Indian food. This Indian food is like any one will find in North Indian Punjabi restaurents and hotels of Delhi. The dishes are flavorful and better than what one gets in many restaurents in the US and UK. The chef has worked in hotels around Aerocity, New Delhi and is competent at turning out dishes. The service is quick. The staff is friendly. The place appears clean and the food fresh. Read moreFantastic little restaurant with incredible authentic food in a lovely little outdoor mall. The seating area is covered and shielded from the road, with views of the shops. It was quiet, until nighttime when the crickets began to sing.
We came in as two adults and three children, and everyone found something to enjoy—I wish I had taken more photos of the food because the presentation was as lovely as the dinner was delicious. Highly recommend the samosas, which were generously sized and I am still dreaming about today.
