I took a chance and returned for breakfast. This time I had a much better experience. They had things set up when I arrived. Service was friendly and attentive. Self service coffee, orange juice, water and pineapple and watermelon. I ordered the gallo pinto plate again. It was tasty. Complete opposite of the first time (see previous review below). The fried plantains were done correctly and were great, gallo pinto was tasty. I do wish they served cheese with their breakfast. I have change my rating to reflect my latest experience. Previous review for first breakfast: The breakfast was very bad the first morning during my stay. Coffee was bitter. Ended up making my own and not drinking it. No fruit drinks on offer. Fruit available was sliced pineapple and watermelon. They were good but could have been better. The gallo pinto plate was not good. The gallo pinto was not tasty. The fried banana was very greasy and had an awful taste (inedible). It was fried with some of the outer peel left on it. I have never seen this done when frying only when baking or roasting. There was no cheese. The toast was toasted with margarine. The only thing edible was the eggs. Very disappointed. I have had many gallo pinto plates that were excellent at other hotels, sodas and restaurants. This particular version was the worst of countless that I have eaten. I left hungry and left the property to have lunch elsewhere. The restaurant was not ready for service at 7am. They just started setting up. Didn’t care for the music. Would have preferred Latin music or quiet to listen to bird song. The restaurant set up is attractive and it overlooks a pond with ducks. Has potential. Needs improvement in service and food quality and prep.

Great place to eat, we headed over looking for a change from our hotel and were not disappointed. Food was fantastic, we had the burger and ribs, both came with fried and both delicious. Was asked how I wanted my burger cooked, something we rarely get in the UK and it came out it was cooked to perfection with crispy, as opposed to tepid, limp bacon which is so often the case. Ribs we're huge served and also came with a delicious salad on the side and our beers came in properly chilled, frosted glass to make them ice cold. Menu has a great range of other options, delicious sounding steaks etc and the welcome was warm and friendly. High recommended.

We arrived for our 3 day stay and decided to have dinner at the onsite restaurant and make it an early night. We ordered the Patacones but they were out so we opted for guacamole. Different from how we make it but very good. The pica was sweet and and lime that we both found as a really good combo. The black bean dip was a pleasant surprise. the chips are homemade and phenomenal! The Casado Leonardos Costa-Rican style meat in sauce, a traditional dish, was delicious and definitely enough for the two of us. The service was fantastic. The open air decor and the cows which is Hollie's thing was a plus. I still have to get the Patacones!
