La Parrilla Callejera — Restaurant in San Antonio

On a Friday afternoon, we gave our farewell to one of our teammates at this location. Most of us are meat eaters and beer drinkers, we found this place met our needs, but it also delivered quite well. They have a good selection of local beers, including some artisan ones, but the highlight is their food. We ordered the grilled sampler for three (Parrillada para 3), and it was quite tasty. All the portions, meat, pork, chicken, chorizo, and sides, were tasty and really well done. None was dry or overcooked. We also tried the 5 tacos to share, and this was also well done. While visiting Costa Rica for the first time, we happened upon this great little restaurant located very close to our airbnb and the San Jose airport. La Parrilla Callejera didn't look like much at first glance but it turned out to be excellent. The food was really good and the portion sizes very generous. The staff were friendly and attentive. Got chicken tacos with fries for takeout - the tacos all had little burnt black bits from the grill in them that really threw off the otherwise decent taste. Waitress was friendly, but waiting at a table near the register we kept getting a strong scent of sewage from the nearby bathroom....
