Absolutely the best food we had in Costa Rica over our 3 weeks. Everything was brilliant. The location was wonderful with sounds of the ocean and within steps from the beach. The exceptional service which was consistently attentive without being smothering. The food was spectacular and shockingly low prices especially for the quality.
We stopped in for dinner after reading the reviews and weâre not disappointed. Our server, Elvis, was beyond exceptional. Itâs been a few years since we had this level of relaxed, attentive and still formal service. His recommendations were spot on and provided feedback and info on the area and places to go. We ate here 3 times because it was phenomenal. Sangrias, cocktails and wines all fantastic. The surf and turf was mind blowing. The fish and shrimp cooked perfectly, the steaks tender and very flavorful and the rice was unreal.
The owners dog, Kira, patrols the grounds and is a gentle soul waiting for a few handouts. In our case it was 3 marrow bones after they had scraped clean by the humans.
I cannot recommend this place enough and the bill at the end of the night was...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about this place. I wish I could have eaten there all meals every day. I stayed at RIU further away, so it was all inclusive...but had it not been, I'd been back for here a LOT. It's a beautiful location, very classy, and the people are outstanding. The prices are great, and though I don't drink alcohol, I LOVED the watermelon juice (foamy and slushy), and the vida verde. I ordered the French toast, which was made to order (no cinnamon! Hooray!) and smothered in caramelized bananas, a bit of cream, and some strawberries for garnish. It was the best I've ever had or ever hope to have. The menu was packed with delicious-looking, reasonably priced items, and I lamented that I was only able to have one meal there. I enjoyed the atmosphere for a couple hours, just relaxing. On top of that, the staff was very helpful in giving me directions the night before. Even if they hadn't been a huge help, the place in and of itself is the best at least in all of Guanacaste. I've not been to San José but have no doubt that this place could easily hold its own, even if there were a greater population/more...
Read moreIâll begin by saying Iâve eaten here twice before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Last Saturday night was a different story. The staff asked if I had a reservation, which I did, but then sent additional staff to verify if we really did, even after we were seated. I booked through whatâs app. So we were sat in the rear of restaurant where the smell of the septiic tank became unbearable. Our plates were put in the middle of the table for us to serve ourselves, and this was after waiting for our drinks or any service. When we asked for separate checks Jennifer returned and slammed the book down and was quite upset about it, even though we stipulated that in the beginning. Iâve eaten in many restaurants for months in CR and never experienced such an evening. I was quite embarrassed that I recommended the evening to my friends and that we spent time and money getting there by taxi. Iâm not sure why they expect people to eat and smell poo at the same time....
