Mixed Experience: Excellent Food, Concerning Billing Practices The food here is genuinely outstanding However, I need to address a serious concern about the billing system that significantly impacts the overall experience. While menu prices excluding tax is standard practice in Costa Rica, there appears to be a systematic issue with double taxation.

The receipt shows a 23% charge added to each individual item, followed by an additional 13% tax and 10% service charge applied to the total bill. This results in final prices that are over 46% higher than what’s listed on the menu.

For example, a pasta dish listed at ₡10,850 on the menu appeared with the 23% markup already applied on the itemized portion of the bill, then had the standard taxes applied again at the bottom. When I attempted to clarify this discrepancy, I was told this was simply “how the system works” and that taxes weren’t being double-charged, despite the mathematical evidence on the receipt itself.

transparency in billing is fundamental to customer trust. A simple solution would be clearly stating on the menu that prices exclude all applicable taxes and service charges, along with the total percentage customers should expect to pay.

The culinary experience deserves five stars, but the billing confusion and lack of clear explanation unfortunately overshadow what should be a purely positive dining experience.

We won’t come back but I hope management addresses this issue because the food truly is worth...

I don’t normally leave reviews but this was my first time visiting Costa Rica and my family and i ate at this restaurant that was recommended to us by a local and it was by far the best restaurant ive ever been to. The food was so delicious that we came back 3 times in a row. We wish we found this place sooner into our trip because we would have gone every night. That atmosphere was so beautiful they had a small oasis and a very friendly dog but the best part about eating here was the service from Vicky and Hosspew. Vicky shines with beauty inside and out. By far one of the most special people i’ve ever met she truly made our trip. She is full of life and happiness she loves her job and loves to make people smile. We went one last time on our last night in Costa Rica and i was honestly sad to leave her:( I will always remember the excellent service she gave for me and my family. Thank you Vicky...

Costa Rica offers a plethora of tasty food throughout this beautiful country. One spot in particular that is easily accessed from ruta 152 is Tamarindo Seafood Pacific Restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and everything we have tried was delicious, offering a burst of magnificent flavor combinations. Not only is the food quality superb, but also Chef Maria’s creative presentation is unique and delightful. This place offers more than just a meal—it is an experience! Our server, Vicky, is unmatched. She was attentive, ensuring everything was perfect without being overbearing.
