This was the very first place we stopped on our family vacation (first time in Costa Rica). Didn't know what to expect, we were hungry from our flight into Liberia and on our way to La Fortuna, pulled into this place off the side of the road and the food and atmosphere was awesome. Little did I know how delicious the food will be and Freddie's restaurant was an amazing unexpected welcome. My wife had the fish tacos which ended up being the best we had in all our trip through Costa Rica, I had the red snapper fillet in sauce which was amazingly well done and our daughters shared a pizza that was also very good. The house ceviche was an incredible savoury gem as well. Freddie was welcoming and I feel suggested great meals for us all. One of the standout dishes here is definitely the House Ceviche. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it’s a true testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and tradition. The fish is incredibly tender, marinated in just the right amount of citrus, and complemented by crisp vegetables and a touch of local spices that make every bite unforgettable.

Read moreWhat a fabulous off the beaten track restaurant! We chanced upon this place on our way to La Fortuna. We just expected to get a pizza and be on our way. Instead we had a 5 star dinner which was just amazing. The waitress encouraged us to try some fish which she assured us was local and delicious. She was right. We had a red snapper which was fried with fabulous seasonings. All the sides were so fresh. The salad was chock full of fresh vegetables sourced locally. My husband had the Mahi Mahi with a shrimp sauce. What incredible flavor! But the star of the evening was the appetizer- ceviche. It was different from ceviche I had before. Much more flavorful and filled with Mahi Mahi and shrimp. They also have octopus, though we did not sample that. I recommend this place highly for those that want to sample an authentic Costa Rican restaurant...
