Restaurante Colbert — Restaurant in Varablanca

We talked about trying this restaurant on several previous trips to Costa Rica, but for various reasons it didn't work out. We made sure to make it happen on this trip.

The restaurant has a very nice interior and offers wonderful views of the countryside. They weren't busy on the day we visited, so we enjoyed a very leisurely meal.

We both ordered the French onion soup and for entree's my wife ordered roasted duck breast and I ordered a pasta dish. The soup was excellent and we both really enjoyed our respective entrees.

After our meals we were presented with a very impressive dessert tray. I had the best chocolate mousse I'd ever tasted and my wife a strawberry mousse, also very nice.

Fantastic food and service. We stayed walking distance to this place for two nights and dined there two evenings in a row. The four items my husband and I had between us were all excellent. I especially liked the grilled chicken and orange sauce pork. Both were excellent. The spinach pasta was also perfectly creamy and flavorful.

Also don't leave without trying the chocolate mousse, which is probably one of the top 5 desserts I have had anywhere. Even if you haven't had a good experience with chocolate mousse, this might be enough...

I arrived there and the restaurant was EMPTY. Chef is also the server. I asked him what he recommend? And he raised his voice on me- “IM THE CHEF EVERYTHING IS GOOD” well, I just asked for a recommendation. I didn’t feel happy to stay there so I just left. He lost his only clients of his day.
